I've just been looking at a clip of an indoor trial from Italy, the minder/catcher was raised on a forklift truck, to his position, looked at least 15ft from the ground. This got me thinking 'well that's a bit dangerous'. Arena Trials have lots of sharp edges and hard floors, wasn't there a Japanese rider who broke both wrists a couple of years ago. The sections seem to get more and more dangerous as the years progress, is it that the promoters have to forfill the publics need for more and more excitement. What worries me, is our up and coming stars, i'd hate to see them, risking themselves for the sake of entertainment and possibly risking the real goal of world champion. There's probably lots of factors, a good payday, pressures from sponsors and manufactures etc, but remember a damaged trials rider can't win the real goal, that's the world outdoor championship.
Yeah i was there, was kenichi kuroyama at Sheffield, came off the top of a large cotton reels section and did both his wrists in, wonder how he wiped his ass after that accident
Have no issues with my Autowbar rack, bike hardly moves at all with the two strap system I use, one round the back wheel through the upright and one up round the top clamp. very solid and you can't get it anywhere near the back window even if you push it around violently
Now you're talking FPS when you talk about COD. I'm still a fan of the Medal Of Honour franchise. Look out for the latest edition MOH Airborne
Yeah, but remember how EA screwed up on Pacific Assault. Us PC users have been let down by that being crap and COD3 being console only (sorry, but I tried COD2 on an XBox and just can't get to grips with the controller). Airborne is our only hope right now.
Always been a fan of Mouse and Keyboard with COD but after playing it on the 360 with the controller for a while it's surprising how quickly you get used to it, Mouse/keyboard is still better though
I got Call Of Duty 3 on the Xbox 360 last week, fookin fantastic
Oh yeah,
Brother's in Arms on the PC is a kind of strategy game where you point troops into a position to cover you with fire or attack a certain emplacement etc.
Just turn up and unload your bike, if the lads haven't come round to see you to take the money by the time you're ready to ride, or they aren't in, ride down to the house and there's a box on the back door to drop your money in,
Never pay! either park @ the centertainment complex next door and 5 mins walk, or the big shopping arcade (one with currys, mcdonalds, homebase etc) that's an extra 2 mins away.
Other option is to park @ meadowhall or in town and take the tram for a couple of quid, right to the back of the arena
I offered to help, Jude @ GasGas said they'd got the full amount of observers but I could turn up and they'd find me something, i feel so bad now, but glad I've read this now otherwise I'd be sat there at 9am tomorrow morning wondering where everyone was!
Yeah it was the John Mac road trial, was hot dogging on some rocks in between laps when it snapped, causing my balls to meet with the top clamp at speed :-S
Smashed the flywheel cover totally so bought a new one from RPM, too skint to buy a renthal chain at the mo (bloody car has cost me a fortune) so will have to wait til my expenses come through in a week or so.
It was stretched a hell of a lot before it snapped, right on the end of the snail cams, after only about 7-8 trials :-O
Should be observing this weekend if I'm needed,
Justin I'll remember what to shout, what was it, dog **** ralphy at ralph and southern poofter at you?
