  1. This is an old one, but still makes me laugh: A man was leaving a convenience store with his morning coffee when he noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery. A black hearse was followed by a second black hearse about 50 Feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse was a solitary man walking a dog on a leash. Behind him, a short distance back, were about 200 men walking single file. The man couldn't stand the curiosity. He respectfully approached the man walking the dog and said: "I am so sorry for your loss, and this may be a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?" "My wife's." ''What happened to her?" "She yelled at me and my dog attacked and killed her." He inquired further, "But who is in the second hearse?" The man answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my wife when the dog turned on her." A very poignant and touching moment of brotherhood and silence passed between the two men. "Can I borrow the dog?" "Get in line."
  2. Three businessmen were sitting in a sauna when suddenly they heard a 'beeping' sound The merchant banker pressed his forearm and the noise stopped. The others looked at him and questioningly ... "That was my pager" he said, "I have a microchip implanted under the skin of my arm". A few moments later a 'phone rang. The Stockbroker lifted his hand and placed the palm to his ear. When he had finished he said "That was my mobile 'phone. I have a microchip in my hand". The self-employed motorcycle mechanic felt really low-tech but decided to do something just as impressive. He left the sauna and went to the bathroom. When he returned there was a piece of toilet tissue hanging from his bottom. As the other men looked at him with their eyebrows raised he said ... "Well, will you look at that. I am getting a FAX"
  3. I was in in the public restroom - I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice in the other stall: "Hi, how are you?" Me: embarrassed, "Doin' fine!" Stall: "So what are you up to?" Me: "Uhhh, I'm like you, just sitting here." Stall: "Can I come over?" Me: (attitude) "No, I'm a little busy right now!!" Stall: "Listen, I'll have to call you back. There's an idiot in the other stall who keeps answering all my questions!

  5. I finally got rid of the clutch drag. I can't be 100% sure of what fixed it as I made 3 changes at the same time. 1. Installed the red slave cylinder cover. 2. Switched to ELF oil. 3. Bled the system. I think bleeding the system is what really fixed it as the master cylinder was clogged and would not back bleed until cleaned. Now the clutch is good again.
  6. I opened up the clutch to measure the friction plates. They ranged from 2.67 to 2.71 mm. The manual only lists the minimum width at 2.5 mm, so I can't tell if the friction pads swelled up or not. Do these values seem reasonable ? Also, with the clutch cover removed I tried to measure how much the pressure plate moves as the clutch is engaged and it seemed to be around 4 mm. Is this expected ?
  7. I wonder if I screwed up the friction plates using the wrong oil. Bought the bike new, did the clutch mod, put ATF type F in it, and the clutch was real good. Then I switched to RedLine gear oil (worried about the protection provided by ATF). Clutch ran fine for a while, but then started to drag bad. Went back to ATF and the clutch still drags some. I'm thinking to lightly sand off the friction plates. Is this a good idea ? What can I do to get the clutch to stop dragging ?
  8. I've been practicing hopping the front wheel and getting better every time. However, I find that hopping to the right (rear brake side) is almost impossible. Is the technique different when hopping to the right vs the left ?
  9. I recommend the Alpine Stars. My ankles are busted from too many injuries and these boots provide the most ankle support of all the trials boots I've owned. They hold up well too.
