  1. Here's a thought for what it's worth. Considering the age of your machine and the poor condition you describe you may want to replace the crankshaft seal while you have the cover removed. It's certainly more work than just gasket replacement and involves clutch and primary gear removal. Stator side crankshaft seal might be bad too which could cause poor running.
  2. Bolt #3 is a retainer for the kickstart mechanism. There's no need to remove it to take off the clutch cover. I removed the cover from my TR34C two days ago. After the perimeter bolts are removed tapping on the case broke the seal and the cover was easy to remove.
  3. Would someone care to share their knowledge of the evolution of the TR34 engine? Specifically what changes and improvements were made from the original 240? Of most interest is what changes were made to the cylinder/piston/crankshaft/carb. I'm restoring a Campionato which is missing the top of the motor and I need to source parts that will work correctly. I've searched the web for such info but so far have found very little. Greg
  4. I'd love to see some more photos from under the tank. I'm missing the CDI coil and don't have the foggiest idea what it should look like. Also the air filter element. I'll PM you with my e-mail address. Maybe we can learn some things together.
  5. Awesome, I just bought the same bike three days ago. Mine came without the top of the motor so I'll be sourcing parts for some time. Thanks for posting photos of what mine should look like.
