  1. grib, Any chance that you have a 309 manual? I can't seem to find one.
  2. There are many inexpensive choices on ebay. Since I'm not an electrical engineer I'm hesitant to risk a burned out stator to save a few dollars. Guess it'll be a call to my dealer. Thanks to those who've responded.
  3. Yes, I can get to the burned off resistor (or whatever it is) but would have no idea what to put in it's place.
  4. My 2004 280 Pro has a burnt out rectifier. Is there a common part available to replace this that is less costly than the GasGas part? Part number is MT300534009 (black socket) which replaces BT280434107 (blue socket). Ducati ignition.
  5. A closer look at this photo and it seems that the 125 did drive on the left side so "maybe" that's what you have although I don't think you have the correct engine. http://www.beta-uk.com/images/stories/tech_info_mods/1990_TR_35.png
  6. From what I know the 125 had normal forks and the 240 had USD forks but don't take that as the "for sure" truth. Beta UK has some info. The TR35 came out in 1990. http://www.beta-uk.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=157
  7. Oh my, you do have a conglomeration. To add to what Chuck said: The clutch perch should be Domino but most any dirtbike perch w/ lever will work. The actual seat, hidden beneath the mammoth cushion, is correct but not properly attached to the tank. The rear brake parts are the same starting with the '89 TR34 thru the early Zero. Can't say if the brake pedal will work for you with that engine but I do have a source for the pedal only. I also have a parts list I could send you. PM me if you want to know more. Some photos of my TR34 are here: Note the clutch pedal & master cylinder. http://home.comcast..../site/?/photos/ Greg
  8. Thanks for the confirmation. I'm accustomed to static timing of 1.6 - 1.8mm and 3mm seemed too much. Had the bike out for a test on Saturday. Jetting seemed a bit lean at part throttle. Was a #35 pilot and specs. call for #40 so changed it and will need to test again. So far this bike is fun! Comparing it to my TR-34 it feels a bit larger.
  9. Thanks. It was set at third from top so I moved it to second. At idle on the sidestand (leaned over) it is not as smooth as when vertical. Possibly I need to check the float height.
  10. The info I have for my 309 says to put the needle clip in the second position. Second from where, top or bottom of the needle? Carb is the PHBH26 CS. Anyone know?
  11. Cleaned the 309's carb last evening and adjusted the needle clip. First real ride coming up on Saturday. Hope to know more about the bike afterwards.
  12. Worked on my "new" 309. I replaced a broken rear spoke, cleaned and lubed the chain and removed the front wheel in preperation of re-centering it between the forks. Funny that it's 3/8 inch off center. Greg
  13. Ok, It's my first Fantic. I have it home and need to learn about the bike. The only English language manual I've found is for a 305 and a parts manual in Italian for a 307. Can I use the 305 info for setting timing? "3mm on the piston" Can this be correct? Greg
  14. Bright gold will look just fine unless you're after an authentic restoration apperance. http://home.comcast.net/~gacbm/Photos/DSCN7675.JPG
  15. Thanks. Are the later ones appreciably better? Other than cracked frames are there issues to look for?
  16. Could someone describe the difference or improvements between a 1982 240 Trial and the later 240 Professional? Is the "Pro" a better machine? I've tried to search this forum but have not been successful in finding this info.
  17. Could someone tell me where and how the stock light/horn/kill switch is mounted on a TR34? Mine has missing parts. Photo would be most helpful but written description will suffice.

    Beta Tr34

Possibly the carb vent. Tip the bike on it's side and see if fuel runs out.
  19. Thanks! Then my guess is that it's a '91 TR35. From photos I've seen the '90 TR35 had the tan/gold colored engine.
  20. Hello, Could someone help me identify this cylinder? It's NOS for an air-cooled Beta. The casting imprint shown in the photo indicates the number 90 which I think that might be the year of manufacture. Of special interest is that there are intake boost ports and the exhaust port is a single oval port. I've seen photos of TR34 cylinders and it doesn't seem to be from that model. Is it possibly from a TR35 or ST? The color is grey and is the original paint.
  21. Greetings, Would someone have a TR33 or even TR32 parts manual and be willing to send me a copy? A link to download one would work also. I've searched extensively and can't locate one. Greg
  22. Here's a thought on the stuck cover. Could you pry or cut out the shaft seal. There may be some foreign object (dirt/rust/crud) that is binding the shaft in the bushing. Small oils seals are not very expensive.

    New TR34R owner

Looks like the Tryals shop has new Master Cylinders. http://www.tryalsshop.com/#ecwid:category=162461&mode=product&product=358943
