'Tis called 'batch building'...all small businesses do it. I would be surprised if a trials bike manufacturer would build any other way, especially when we're talking about low volume products.
As ever I am willing to be corrected, just be gentle, I'm having a bad hair day.
That's quite an exhaust leak if you can start your Sherco and run it with a bung in? Anne Summers do some very good butt-plugs that would do a much better job....err...I'm told
That meme is a back handed compliment. I spoke to a 4rt owner about why he kept his bike for 7+years when he had a history of bike addiction requiring a change of steed every 12 months. I asked if the 4rt was reliable?
He said 'It's a honda generator with a efing gearbox added on'
Apart from Philip Green, Amazon, Starsucks ..............
You quote a few slippery (solvent) businesses, I quoted an entire nation. Therein lies the difference...but I think you knew that already? The socialist utopia is crumbling, comrade.
He's just stating facts, nothing conspiracy about it.
It's the facts that he chooses to ignore which shapes his story: I'll put it bluntly; Greeks think dodging out of paying taxes is a god given rite. They didn't ,fiscally, qualify to join the Euro mechanism and have proved to be a bad debt, then were bailed out, and proved to be a very bad debt, now have defaulted, which makes them a very, very bad debt!
No it's not, it's a shy tee card game for people with no mates
It seems like Raga was as much in the dark about the looming shut-down as we were otherwise he would have made provisions rather than the knee-jerk crowd-funding.
Let's speculate, it is the mainstream of any modern forum, after all?
Surely, a professional rider needs to have a plan B if only for a short term bridge to another source of income?
He could ramp up the personal appearances (demos etc..), sponsorship permitting, to carry him through a (supposed) gap year.
Or, he could cross the divide and try his hand at a few money-making enduros...Or he could jump ship to a 2nd division team...Discuss
I'm not picking over carrion here, I know we've been asked to respect the TC sponsor (there's nothing I'd like more than to see GasGas/Shirty back to full speed) but how can we speculate on a new GasGas being resurgent when it's not clear as to how the fatal-debts arose?
Therefore, how would any new motorcycle company secure any financial backing to re-start GasGas...regardless of the engineering obstacles?
I can't forsee a viable business plan unless the previous pit-falls are clearly defined (as avoidable) or shown to be surmountable, second time around.
It's slowly sunk in that a major trials bike manaufacturer has ceased production, with all the ramifications for the sport. ...I've recently spent some time with Enduro mounted buddies who were floored by the capabilities of my; 'wee trials bike' (and I make no bold claims about my riding abilities). Trials bikes are the best motorbike product, period.
The latest fun currency exchange rate:-
1x trials bike = 2 x Enduro/MX/Road (tick as applicable) bikes.
ATF is the boyo but with a bike as pokey as that you may find that after purging your 'box of the remains of the 40wt, then re-filling with new ATF that the clutch is a bit of an on/off switch; which would make that bike a handfull for a newby. But really, it's your toy, enjoy it, it looks like it's had an easy life...so far
Michelin, I've recently tried out the Vee alternative and whilst the block compound is soft; the side-wall structure is too rigid. Also, it was a complete and utter b45t4rd to seat. I am currently running it with 0psi just to 'soften it up'.
However I think that the GG brand is too small, china products are most of the time very big volumes (could grow offcoarse, but trial market is not that big especially in home country and developing, which is most of the time their aim)
Agreed, volume is king as far as the Chinese are concerned and the small output generated by trials bike manufacturers is why there has been no sign of a Chinese trials bike.
But if they could modify a commuter bike to cater for trials riders??
I was out practicing yesterday and there were a few Gassees out who were genuinely shocked when they heard the news and now have financial decisions to make.
Also, I blagged a ride on a JotaGas and revelled in the suspension (sweet), I didn't want to mention the current state of Marzochi to the owner, I already felt like the harbinger of doom.
