  1. two small points, acu has loads of money? says who, and, would all the members agree to use money in this way. put a small increase on levy, insurance, membership or entry and its like world war III. so would it happen or even work. lots of names banded about, but are the best riders, the best teachers/coaches? steve saunders i think qualifies, but do the others. look at football(did i really say that!) was wenger or ferguson the best players? think the answers no. am i right in saying kurt nicoll started riding at 14!(mind he never made it either, did he dabster. wasnt a world champion!
  2. dougie lampkin 7 x outdoor champ 5 x indoor(is it?!) did he train in spain(as a youth) get acu money have an accademy moan! you are born with what u are born with then its down to hard work if its money? wheres all our champs from the lottery funding to other sports and yes! steve saunders was and still is a top man he made it! he just needed that extra bit! to be world champ but he still made it in trials! best of luck to all our up coming riders, but put the bowl away! it makes it easier sometimes, but only raw talent and hard work will get you there.
  3. bdmc seems very defensive? is it world rules(totally) or not seems half baked, and weve had enough of those type of rules. just was starting to think we were reasonably settled rules wise. this just dangles another carrot!
  4. ermmmmmmm should i reply!!! everybody wants to win? well maybe, but definately everyone wants to win a peice of plastic, metal if your lucky! thats the problem mainly today, not just trials, sport in general, but trials is our game as such. more classes for more plastic to win, more classes more winners, even more plastic! keep the sections to the abillity of the riders present, ok were talking bc here, but look at some of the marks off the winner sometimes. you put an extra class in, and there will always be a few who eye the new plastic, and go for it. sections, massive steps, which do nothing to stop the best in real terms(they practice them all day) they just put the rest off, those who buy there bikes and work monday morning. what you need is proper sections, proper trials and you will get a proper champion, one decent trophy needed, and the rest?, well improve next year if you want the trophy! bc has watered down from something to be very proud of with lots of riders, to 12 stupid sections round a mole hill. progress......... dougie by the way would have been many time world champion, whatever the bc he had rode, its either there or it isnt, and money to sportsmen? well wheres all our world champions and gold medal winners from the lottery money? sometimes you just need it blunt...
  5. .... the pics!! who won!! lol

  8. please find my report for the event below, ive been honest and constructive, dont spose you see many reports, so thought id show you mine, not the usual " nice day, lovely trial, can i come back next year" type report. Lakes Two Day Trial 16th & 17th October 2004 It is with a certain amount of difficulty that I write the report for this event. Whilst the format is superb, and the team running the back room, for the event is very good, it has been let down badly by some of the section plotting. This event again attracted a full entry list, being 180 riders, with nearly all the countries top riders, and the club needs both congratulating on this, and the ability to get the land that they do. The trial ran smoothly from start to finish, and this year was without incident, but only by luck, having seen a lot of the sections. The sections were too hard on both courses, and lacked thought in places. An October weekend and you are using grassy and muddy bankings! And with all that rock and stream about? Also sections seemed to been found, that were good for a hard course, but no easy course, so it either used a good part of the hard course, or was put on slippy banks, that turned out harder. A certain section at Newfield could only be regarded as ridiculous, and was luckily pulled by a club steward prior to a rider riding it. Thought has got to be put into health and safety, risk assessment to riders, and the ability to get first aid there. This isn
  9. ive put a quick portion of results on, and said its easy to punch the c of c here, after someone claiming what they would have said to him, had they seen him, when he was there to be seen. point made? i cant say to much till ive said it officially, but i totally agree with sparky and hillary(did i say that!!! m....) one thing i will say is, the manx is a brilliant trial to copy! (and socially, appollogies for being off form this year!! lol) remember im not scared to comment, and im not hiding behind a nickname. enough said by me, till i get my opportunity.
  10. dabster!! dont pick on a now!!!! easy punch bag, after all he was openly available, about on many sections to abuse, but you didnt did you? he was at the end of at least two sections for the whole entry on sunday, so you passed him twice? also in the start/finish area sat and sun.

  13. it has never cost me the win, and never will!! but riders trying to get an entry that have failed, can see those that have, who cheated and were caught for it, have got entries. one especially, who will also be in the pre 65, and probably gets hand picked for both events, without worrying about the ballot, then its more than a bit gauling. a lesser rider would have been black balled, why not a certain rock kicker!
  14. small but controversial topic. my question for debate is simple. with an overwhelming amount of people wanting an entry, why are people, who were caught red handed cheating, given an entry to the event, thus depriving genuine honest people of a possible entry. and i dont mean a little bending of rules, of which most competative people will probably done, at some time in a competative arena.
