Cheers for the replies. How do I clean the crank case and cylinder out, is that an engine out job. Im giving it a service anyway, oil change, filters, coolant, brake fluid and gearbox oil and new brake pads.
Just found out that the bike I've just bought has no air filter and I don't know how long the last owner has been riding it like his . What damage should I look for and I presume I will have to take the carb off and clean it. Is their anything else I should do.
New filter has been ordered, Thanks Dave.
Hi all im new to the site and trials, is their such a thing as a Haynes Manual or similar for a 2004 Sherco 250. If so where can I get one from . Thanks Dave

Hi, I am Dave from Wallsend Newcastle area, I've just got myself a 2004 sherco 250 to learn/practice on, Any tips would be great. I've just about always had motorbikes since I was very young (not so young now lol) mainly road bikes and crossers so I thought I would try a bit of trials riding. So any tips on riding or even to keep my bike running ok would be cool. Also is their any place I can practice my riding in the Newcastle area.
Thanks Dave.
Hi, can anyone give me the directiond to the DMC Trial today at Valley Fram, Oxenlaw, near Castleside., i will be coming from Newcastle.
Post code would be handy if their is one. Thanks Dave.
I dont know if this will help but i had a YZ 250 that done this, what i was told to do was the night before your ride out pull the clutch lever to the bars and zip tie or tape it to the bars all night. Next morning it was fine. Hope this helps

My budget will be arround £1000 but the cheeper the better as i might not like it.
ps. what makes of bike is the lightest so therefore easier to throw arround, and also any advice as to what model would be best for me.
