My TXR312 is still in progress. I’ve found all the parts for the engine. Wanted to do something different for the air filter, with no luck. Climber airbox is a lot different and won’t fit. Need to find the stock air filter. Need to find a shift lever too.

Hi, a Climber airbox will fit, just heat it up and with little work you can arrange it, I did it on a TX311

I'm looking for an air filter for a TXR312M, I saw an ad a month or two ago that someone had reproduced them an I can't locate it.  Does anyone have that information

  3. this is based on a italian XL125s, which is quite identical with the XL185s sold worldwide, except the engine of course. head angle is standard, fork clamps are from a trials bike as are the forks (35 mm) and shocks. foot pegs are moved further back, height is different as well. tank seat unit is similar to the Honda RS 200 TS made by a friend. lot of work on the engine (250 cc, bored and stroked, gearbox has 6 speed with a very useable range - I changed the two sprockets for the 2nd gear, other are standard as on the 6speed italian XL125, primary drive is shorter, exhaust is hand made, pipe cames from a seeley, carb is a standard Keihin 22mm but I'm testing with a Keihin 24mm

    hope this can help

    cheers

  4. I'm having some bother with my fantic 305, it will only run with the choke on. With choke off it runs up and down and and soot up the spark plug. Iv stripped and cleaned the carb and took off the reed valve and checked them and all looks good! The manifold lookx good too no ctacks ect. Any ideas what else I could check? Cheers!

are you sure the pilot jet is ok? if there is the genuine dellorto carb fitted, it'd have a 2nd slow jet and circuit in the bowl. is this circuit ok?

  5. Going to the anodisers tomorrow :D

Also, we were looking / talking about doing a full cover / guard for the silencers which would fit the original ones so you could use them without the risk of damaging them. It would work along the same lines as the picture below. That alloy was welded so to hold the moulds while they were welded together. If you use your imagination. The gap between the silencer and the guard would be around 5mm(not the gap that's currently there) It would also be shaped to the silencer and be bolted using the mudguard mount and also using the clamp. Then would press against the weld so to support and protect incase of impact.

Is this something people would be interested in?

  6. Just wondered how many of the remaining Seeley's still have the original stainless RSC back boxes fitted.

I had one from new and the rear box needed plating before it was two years old, paper thin!

The odd ones that come up for sale all appear to have after market exhausts fitted.

I have one, original exhaust, special swing arm

  7. ok, thanks again!

I presume you own a genuine comerfords, so pls tell us, is the work with the swingarm pivot point worth it? I mean, owning a comerford is one thing, the real performance of a bike is something else...

  8. reg used to make a brace and bronze weld it

pivot bracket is shortened, not nicely

there is a plunger into the gearbox which needs to be shortened.

All the above refers to "comerford replicas" You know what these are I am assuming.

    thanks nigel!

I know about the comerford replicas, but didn't yet see one here in italy, would really like one..

by the way, can you explain the thing with the plunger?
