i know what you mean but i have a problem as someone as damaged the nut at the bottom trying before there tight tight tight anyone recommend a carefull way of removing the seal i have done it before when a kid on a old banger by screwing in a self tapper either side of seal and gently pulling on alternative sides crude i know but it worked then

hi been reading on here about changing fork seals i have a little leak nothing magor if i remove fork leg and remove the clips that hold seal in place and manage to remove seal from the top can i not slide new seal down fork leg press into place and refit clips etc can you do it this way or do you have to strip forks????? help advice appreciated many thanks

cleaned whole exhaust soaked it for five hours in a red hot caustic bath all clean now no excessive smoke its perrrrrrrrrrrrfect also cleaned the insulation in tail pipe as it was dripping in oil so all sorted cheers

hi currently running my ty175 at 50-1 on good quality castrol 2t fully synthetic oil just think it smokes a bit to much been reading forums and people are saying anything from 50-1 to 100-1 with a good quality full synthetic 2t oil. any suggestions of a good ratio mix bike only rode off road any help greatly appreciated as neighbours dont like the smoke would it be ok at 70-1 with castrol fully synthetic oil cheers guys

hi new to the twinshock bikes wondering could any one tell me the recommended tyre preasure for ty175 rear tyre riding conditions mud tree stumps roots and some flat rocks im 14 1/2 stone and really unsure whats the best peasure for these conditions where i ride has also alot of slippery greenery any advice appreciated regards

hi as your aware the bush wears in the gear linkage cover on the tys especially the ty175 there is some fixes but some are expensive ive tried something that works superbly and makes gear changeing a lot more responsive as the main oil seal is behind the cover the outer oil seal behind the lever is more of a dust seal as no oil should be behind the cover if it is then the inner seal has gone . i removed the outer seal and fitted a 12mm x 19mm x12mm bearing that i pressed into the casing where the external oil seal should be pressed it in with my vice and two pieces of wood so not to damage, the bearing fits tight and the shaft is nice and snug this allowing the gear change shaft to turn smoothly and also supports it taking out any excess play that has accured over the years. used it today and rode it hard lots gear changing and the differance is un discribable its like new . for £5.25 it is ideal might not be for everyone but it deffinatly works first class cheers

hi can any tell me the exzact diameter of a ty gear shaft the one the lever fits on cant measure mine as its not with me i want to have a play and see if i can adapt linkage cover and add my own turned bronze bush any replies appreciated cheers

hi guys i have oil leak from external oil seal on gear shaft i need toemov replace internal too but no idea how ? do i have to strip engine or can i access from removing left hand cover is it a big job any help appreciated thanks

hi im dave from bristol 42 thought i would relive my youth and got a ty175 however i have few problems oil leak from external seal on gear shaft , been told need to replace internal seal how do i do this does engine need stripping or can i access by removing lh side casing cheers guys
