  1. the Haynes manual showing 12 plates as that's what I have mate your saying fit the one that fits on hub first ? by looking at Haynes its showing he tabbed one first knew I should have left alone lol
  2. yes they were new springs they are metal on metal plates yes there in the right order but I I have 6 drive plates and six friction plates plus the cover plate ?? that's what came out ?
  3. no mate I never had ball bearing had badly worn push rod and almost like a tapered hollow piece of metal about 10mm long then the mushroom . anyway that's all gone now . the springs I fitted were about 12mm longer than ones taken out although bike starts fine now no clutch slip have clutch drag quite bad with clutch in bike wants to move in 1st and 2nd although its adjusted right cant take out any more slack cheers
  4. bondy you say if clutch cover or mag cover gets hot there something wrong obviously it will get hot but what do you mean ? too hot to touch ? or just hot mine gets hot but I can touch it and bike seems to run fine
  5. started to put clutch back together bought new push rod mushroom push rod and new ball bearing. when I took it all apart the long push rod was ok so was the mushroom push rod but I had no ball bearing? instead I had a short piece of tapered rod about 10mm long . any ideas

  9. hi should the 151 350 have a breather hole in filler nut like the primary filler cap? the primary filler has a hole about 1mm on the side. but the filler for gear box under carb has just got a slotted cap with no hole, I was reading a post from 2008 and guy had over heating problems he had no vent on his gear box as mine does run bit hot I was just wondering should mine have a vent ? cheers
  10. hi I have a 151 Sherpa 325 just checked as I thought mine was bit hot I only have one vent I have the big slotted nut for filling the gear box under carb but there is no hole in it should I have ??? many thanks
  11. any one know the size of the external gear selector shaft oil seal as cant find one on inmotion or anywhere? cheers
  12. my problem is never had a bultaco before had a ty175 before and beta and stuff like that and the Sherpa is different ball game I think but glad I made the move love riding the sherpa a lot more fun and nice just to plod a long on
  13. cheers woody and the rest of you guys tried woody's new starting technique and its great improvement as I was not starting it this way but thrashing it a bit . but now getting kick start in position and gently pushing its ten times better not perfect but a lot better and feel a bit better now knowing others slip even with new clutches. I will admit though my plates are smooth and marked and got no punch holes on them so I think its a new clutch in the near future. but thanks for all your help on this subject and other posts of mine fantastic site and great guys many thanks
  14. is it true that the clutch plates are the same for all models as I have just been offered a set of new old stock plates from a 1968 t 250 although my bike is a t 350 I know my crank cases are the same as a 250 cheers
  15. yes mate its better when warm just does my head in slipping all time trying to start and yes I got very good compression . and she pulls well in every gear cheers
  16. think its needed mate just stripped clutch and plates badly worn they are quite slick you can only just make out a few of the dots on them on some plates you cant see any. just put back together and mixed plates up and its a lot better but I know I need to spend out soon . I only ride for fun so not like riding trials every week I have looked at those kits on inmotion that's the way I will go but cant find spring compresser hard work with pliers and the wife pulling pins out with pin nosed cheers
  17. magneto key all good I know that for sure as just done points and condenser . wheres the woodruff key clutch side the basket fits on it ? and where is throw out ball? all I done was adjusted clutch un done big nut and unscrewed centre of clutch quarter of turn it did slip now and again about 1 in 20 now its everytime just started it and it slipped 6 times before starting on 7th kick cheers
  18. hi just done service and change my oils on my 151 325 Sherpa replaced the oil in clutch with atf as suggested and used by many now when I go to start it and kick over 9 times out of 10 clutch slips so engine wont fire up is it the oil ? clutch all adjusted ok and pulls like a train when riding with no sign of clutch slip only up on starting any suggestions or any one else experienced this using atf any help appreciated cheers
  19. not got a garage but a wooden shed being a country boy my shed is coated on very thin wires all over and its hooked up to two cattle electric packs that are hidden in porch of house. as soon as I go to bed flick the switch and all set . never had problems with robbers burglers cats dogs infact my garden is very quiet lol. works for me only ever forgot it was on once until I went to unlock shed never ever forgot to turn it off again .

  21. had a mare today throttle cable broke when I took top off carb to remove cable noticed the needle clip has broken too. The clip fell off the needle as I took it out . bought new needle clip but have no Idea which slot to put it on . any ideas on which slot would be great as far as I know the carb and jets are standard . cheers aslo there is no real signs of any wear or marks where clip was so im a bit stumped what happens if I put it on top slot? middle slot ? bottom slot ? please help regards

  23. hi as stated in previous posts I am a total novice when it comes to bultaco as always been a yam man. any advice on best sprocket combination how many teeth front and back for nice slow tricky sections I will not be riding on road. any advice appreciated cheers
  24. cheers guys sorry to seem a bit daft on this bike but its new to me always had a ty175 before. now for some more daft questions you say last of the slim line models whats slim line model ? and the tank that's fitted is this not the standard tank? am I better off sourcing the original tank side panels ? cheers
