Hi, Chippy, the black box you mention IS the coil.It is a stupid place to mount it,very easily damaged. There must be a better place for it on the bike,i doubt if it will mount back under the tank,Why would sherco move it in the first place if there was room?It is one small gripe on a otherwise great bike!I would not worry about it being a 05/06 hybrid,it just shows the bike is a true late 05 model.
Hi, definatly no bigger than 125,if he takes to trials and joins a club,i think i,am right in thinking at his age he would not be allowed to compete on any thing bigger.with a BMX background should take to it like a duck to water.Good luck, wont regret it.
My mate has one of those,i call it an 05 and a half!basicaly it is in a 4 stroke frame with the split down tubes.nothing wrong with that, but the coil is mounted in a very vunrable place, plus with the new shape tank he had trouble with petrol leaking from tank/petcock seal.
Just thought i,d dip into the Trials Central knowledge bank and ask,TOP TEN TIPS for mods on a 05 290.Riding -maintenance-tyres-ideas -ect.Please dont say- buy a beta/gasser/mont
Bloody hell!are you boys trying to depress me I just wish i had that amount of room to play with{think cat and swing} still there,s always the lottery?
The black tube Sting was refering to is simply the throttle tube that fits on your handlebars which comes with the bike, a white tube is a fast action throttle.Domino make.
Put mine on with a hot glue gun, perfect If you use this method, warm the bars up with a blow torch or hairdryer, then apply glue,it gives you longer setting time for any mistakes!
I prefer the chemical route if could find the right product, buying a new one seems a bit excessive.Do you think something like Jizer [i think that,s whats it called] is powerfull enough?
Just reading Art,s post for a manual& read HAM2 reply,in which he mentions de-oiling the middle box, what is the best way?chemicals-petrol-heat.sorry if going over old ground, but did,nt catch it first time round.Cheers
I do,nt know if it,s my steam powered computer, but going from new forum post to forum post on the home page is sooooo sloooooooow!. Anybody else has this prob.Cheers
Try Petseal, you might have to order it as it as a use by date, some shops do,nt keep on shelf. If you go down the welding route you might have to budget for a new tank sticker, ask first.
Price and availability WERE at the root of my question,I also run a 05 sherco, and thought instead of turning the tyre,i would put it on my TY hence my query,on TY there are 2 security bolts at 10 to&10 past, valve at 6.
My son works for ATS& could get a discount on tyre, but only tubeless were available at the time.
Thanks for replies,I was NEVER going to fit a tubeless tyre to a tubed rim without using a tube My query was reguarding -would a tubeless tyre stay ON, running 3-4 psi? Still none the wiser Cheers Dale.
Cheers boys,I,am not after anything in particular, just looking for any sites with interesting material on it, there was a great looking site posted earlyer, but it was in french ,If you come across any thing be sure to po st it
My ty is running a tubed MT43,can i fit a tubless mitchy(with tube)?,getting different answers, like would,nt fit rim, come off at low pressures ect.Any help very welcome.
