  1. Carl, I wonder if you put some videos on the net where we could here your engine with your factory titanium silencer?
  2. No, It runs at full speed I guess. When the engine is idle or when riding at low revs the fan makes more noise than the engine! Of course it's stops after a little while if I don't pull again the throtle.
  3. Thanks carl, Yes you're right. I didn't think about that. I believe that the impeller is turning toward the front (clockwise) on mine. Do you remember if you had the fan running prematurely with the OEM silencer? I don't understand why they didn't provide any after market racing kit for the evo 4T since the 4 strokes engine brings more heat than the 2 strokes! Do you know how to check the air passage through the radiator?
  4. Ok I removed the cover as you said and only just a bit of the coolant spilled. I removed the impeller to check and it seems ok for me. So nothing wrong with the pump system I guess. Got dissapointed a bit! I'll have to investigate somewhere else to understand why my 4 strokes fan goes off so quickly... By the way I wonder if anyone put a racing impeller kit on the their bike and how much temperature drop they finally got. Would it still worth the kit to reduce the eat? I heard also that alloy impeller is a way to go over the plastic one..doesn't melt. This one is made of plastic. The link to the alloy kit (2 strokes): http://www.trialsuk.co.uk/products/jitsie-beta-evo-water-pump-impeller-kit
  5. I'm now diging into it since my fan is still bothering me. I've heard that the impeller could be the cause and changing it by a jitsy one might solve the problem. Do you know if I can check the impeller without loosing any coolant or do I have to purge everything once I open the cover? Thanks
  6. I've got a Beta 300 evo 4T and I've been advised to use Motul 300v Factory Line 10W40 Works great on mine.
  7. Ok it works great! Now the knob stay in place even after several kick starts.
  8. Thanks for your precious help. I tried first mags advice then 'That's five' hotstart kit if I resign. So I pulled this rubber boot and cleaned everything. Then I thought I could make this shaft small ball more rough by filing it at the front so the shaft retaining plastic part rubbing againts the ball would make it more difficult to release the shaft. That's what I want. I've just done it so I'll let you know after a test ride and see if this shaft will hold in place this time when hotstart occures .
  9. MyBeta evo 4T hot start red knob doesn't stay in place while cranking the engine. Once in a while especially afer the bilke has fallen I've got to pull this red knob to help the engine starting but no way this lever remains pulled by itself. I've got to keep it pulled with my left hand while cranking trying to keep my body balanced. It's a bit of a pain! Anyone knows a trick to keep this things working correctly?
  10. Hi all, It's been a while but nobody really gave us a clue about the Arrow after market pipe versus the factory titanium pipe. At that time you were unsure which one was quieter and performed better than the other. Do you have now the answer? Many thanks in advance.
  11. I own a beta evo 4T 2011 with stalling problems usuely after droping the bike down. It won't restart until many try and pulling the hot start lever. Another problem that can be solves with a new part I guess is that the hot start mechanism is not working properly (Lever Not staying in place). billyt, I bet since 2010 you've been experienced in that matter Has the mikuni carb been improved over the years? Could you help out to solve mine? Thanks in advance
  12. I've got the Titanium Arrow racing pipe but don't use It because I like the very quiet OEM muffler. That's one of the reasons I like 4 Strokes over 2 strokes. I ask to the dealer for a 12 teeth. He told me It doesn't exist. Thanks anyway for trying to help me but I guess I will need help from a 4 Strokes supporter...
  13. What do I want? Ok I ride with a mate that have a 290 beta 2 strokes engine and of course his front wheel lift easily than mine. But mine was ok with the 10/42 but the transmission looked not tuned right and my speed was way too low compare to him. Now with the 11/42 my speed is ok but the front feels a bit too heavy when I try to lift it. For instance, now It's difficult to keep riding with the front wheel up. I point out that I'll won't go back to a 2 strokes engine for many reasons but that's an other story. Just trying to get the right spot. The 11/43 ratio might not be significant for responsiveness but still good for top speed but the 11/44 could be the best but I'm scare I'll have to buy a longer chain.
  14. If I'm not mistaken 12 teeth would put me to an even less throttle response which is something I'm not looking for when riding steep tracks. So I tried the opposit way with a 10 tooth CS but as I said above It's too much. My question was about the rear sprocket...
