  1. No man, not knocking the fine fellows nor the products from TYTrials, simply that the mod did not fully work on my bike. All,the other components in the kit actually fixed my bike. I now have all 6 gears thanks to them. In fact I am about to place another order for them soon. It's all good.
  2. Alright. I consulted with a fine mechanic/machinist at Superior Sleeve in Portland Oregon. His advice was that the shifting mechanism was fine and that the trouble was with the modified bushing on the Shifter Cover. Turns out that the machined bushing from TYTrials was binding and jamming my shifter's shaft preventing me from shifting. It was recommended that I first remove the 2 Locating Pins to allow the bushing to float into a position that would not bind. I did so and the shifting was fine till I tightened the 4 screws on the cover. The tighter the screws: the worse it was to shift. I then mounted the old OEM cover back on and the bike now shifts into all 6 gears. Turns out all I needed was the inner parts of Shifter 2. Not the bushing. So now, I ask you guys, what did you do to re-bush your cover to steady the gear shifter? Mine has too much play. Thanks sirs!
  3. I did try to ride her after I had done the assymbly. She'd only go into first and neutral. She's back on the bench, shifter lever appears normal and nothing hinders as in the Ourian's pictures. Today I will drain oil, and remove right side cover to see. Will I need to romove the clutch to adjust things? My Haynes book isn't to helpful on this issue.
  4. Possible same issue, but no posted remedy. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RtWwZx2HJKY Any ideas?
  5. Thanks for the word processing note! Well, I took the shifter apart and I had put it together exactly as you posted. But, it still only shifts into first and up into neutral. . I will take the clutch cover off and see what is going on there. It puzzles me that besides the shifer kit, nothing was changed and now the bike will not shift. Any ideas fellows? Any U-Tube resources I may have missed? Adjusters? Thanks
  6. Ach-soo Ourian. Thanks so much. I will assymbly it as you. Interesting that up the instructions posted by hyperlink above say contrary. How did you add the writing onto you picture? Are you going with theTrailTrials shifter Kit as well? Thanks
  7. Ourian, Thanks for that picture. I am soon to redo the fitting. But please note on the instructions provided in the "fitting instructions" item no. 12, it says "fat lip inwards" not too sure what fat lip means in this case as they are about the same thickness. Can you take a picture and post it with the side of the lever that faces inward? http://www.tytrials.co.uk/trailandtrialsuk/prod_215437-1617-19-Shifter-Repair-Kit-TY125-TY175.html Thanks,
  8. Ourian, interesting. Can you please explain more what you meant regarding Shift 4 Lever? That was an issue for me during assembly. I was not 100% sure about its orientation upon assymbly as it has a larger flange/lip opening on one side than the other. Plus I thought the circlip wasn't really fitting snugly into a slot. Also, when I accomplished the replacement, I can't recall if I was in neutral or in gear. The instructions never specified and I never though differently. Is that an issue that could be jamming things up near the shift lever area? Thanks.
  9. Thanks, It all fit fine. Strange that the old sloppy gear shifter parts masked this issue.
  10. I just finished the gear shifter mod which I purchased from TYtrials: http://www.tytrials.co.uk/trailandtrialsuk/prod_215437-1617-19-Shifter-Repair-Kit-TY125-TY175.html But now it is very stiff and difficult to shift and more worrisome is that it will not shift up past first gear. I can select neutral and first only. I followed kit's instructions and changed nothing else relating to this. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks
  11. Hi, While sniffing around on the web, saw were a bloke re packed his stock TY175 silencer, in the spark arrestor as in the photo. Any ideas on this and whether it will reduce the noise footprint for us living in urban areas. Thanks
  12. Hello Trialists, I have access to a bearing supplier and would like to know the bearing number of the tapered Timken type steering bearings upper and lower to replace the OEM ball bearings. Thanks guys.

  14. Hello fellow trial bike riders. In April is the possibly las annual Alley Sweep in PDX. Here is the link: http://www.motorcycledaily.com/2013/03/portland-alley-sweeper-urban-enduro/ I will wave the riders by our local alley, which I help maintain, and not ride this year. My TY250A is having its frame powder coated. Have fun.
  15. Upon restoration I noticed 2 holes (left and right of brass filters) that had some debris in them. Not to sure if these holes must extend all the way into the cock's chamber. What is their purpose & should they be totally penetrable with a thin wire into a chamber? Mine seem plugged. Thanks
  16. Hi. In need of the rubber holder which protects the Lighting Coil wires where they exit the engine case. This part has no part number but I found a supplier that will manufacture the part provided I send him some pictures of the part. Please post some pictures of the part to be made by: www.claussstudios.com Thank you kindly

  20. Found a great guy. His name is Roger with Swift Transport.
  21. Hello members, New to this forum and awaiting delivery of my first trials bike. I was able to download a PDF of a Parts Manual and now I need a basic "quick start" type owner's manual which covers the basic service requirements of the TY250a. I have never owned a motorcycle and can't wait to join this community. Thanks ahead.
