  3. the 280 swm is a good fit.i ride one and i`m 6`5 250lds.all i did was use 6`` rise bars.the bike has plenty of power....johnnyb
  4. rob i could not beleve it myself,chris hoffmiester rode the same line on his gasgas and scored a 1. even some of the checkers were talking about it being unfair riding the swm....
  5. just rode a modern indoor trials. it had the normal stuff to ride on cars ,semi trailers,large tires ,and 2to 3 feet tall logs at all angles. finished with a score of 3,,a few of the same line riders called my bike a "cheater bike". what did i ride? 1981 280 swm..the only bulls ther were shercos...
  6. bultaco was opened in what1967 ended in 1982..was that 15 years to win 5 times.....swm started in what 1978 ..ended in 1983..thats 6 years to win after the bikes got awhole lot better...can`t see how a bultaco is the best...mybe it`s me...johnnyb
  7. now that i`ve thought about it ,the perfect twinshock is the one you ride past your buddy as he`s stalled on his modern bike.....
  8. the only perfect parts on a bultaco is the betor forks,i rode a 199a and a199b.lots of lowend power but not much rev,weird turning and both bikes were overly heavy

  11. short of a "works bike" i just love my 82 280 swm or my 81 280 with a 82 betor front end. lite weight lots of power and it turns or floats great. the honda`s are ok but don`t have the punch i like....johnnyb..let`s open the can of worms...

    just a quick note ,the stock swm front brake wet or dry is able to do stoppies and for power the 280 pulls me anywhere and i ride expert and weigh 250 pounds

    hi,just looking for anyone still riding these great bikes across the pond.i rode swm` till 1983retired.came back out in 2001 riding the same bike .
