  1. I will have a hunt around for something more modern in that case. I have changed the oil, though as all the Puch manual said was "fork oil" I think the stuff I got from Halfords was probably a bit thick, but will serve to flush them in any case. I did wonder if it should have a cover, as others seem to, but there are no signs of any holes for one. Iv'e not seen another with the same exhaust or air filter either.
  2. Yes, they are somewhat slippery! Went with MX boots on the one trial I have done so far in case one tried to attack me! Agreed they are first on the list. I have to work out a new brake lever pivot arrangement at the same time, as that goes with the peg. I was thinking the bars look a bit flat. Not sure if that's original or not. There is another set still in the barn the bike was resting in for 40 years. I will have a look.
  3. Yes, it is. I think it was unique to the 330.
  4. Cota 330, on its way out of long term hiberbation!
  5. Hi all, this is my early Dalesman. My best Google image searching has not found another with the same standard forks and the rear brake/peg arrangement that mine has. Is it just a really early one? Can anyone recommend any upgrades? Front forks are very stiff with little travel, which probably isn't ideal. Don't want to do anything to loose its charm, but could do with it being a bit less hard work.
  6. Hi Big John, From what information I can find it looks like the standard Puch 125 had a 14t sprocket. Do you think that would be ok? I would imagine it would be easier to find one of those than a Dalesman one if a Dalesman has a specific one with less teeth. Yes, I tried him, but unfortunately he only has the smaller engined stuff. Said he might be able to find a gear lever though, so it's a start! Martin.
  7. Hi Trev, Yeah, it's looking like a bit of a dead end unless I want to pay a fortune to import one from America! I've got a bit of a plan to machine something up that might work, I'll let you know if it does! Ah, if you have two now, can you help me with my front sprocket teeth count issue? I'm told a Beta sprocket will fit, but I don't know what number of teeth to go for. Also I'm not sure what chain size to go for. Thanks, Martin.
  8. Hello, I'm currently restoring and early Puch engined Dalesman. Can anybody tell me how many teeth the front sprocket should have? The original is missing. Also the rear rubber drive damper is somewhat past its best. I've trawled the Internet but can't find one anywhere. Any ideas? It's a Puch rear hub setup. Thanks! Martin.
