  1. Here we go Gav: http://www.hux.org.uk Let us know how you go with the Berko try-out! Cheers. Rob
  2. Here we go Gav: http://www.hux.org.uk There's also a link to all South Midland Centre events in there. Local road legal trails are a bit (aka very) tame but better than staying in watching telly. And a useless Aldbury fact is that the TRF (Trail Rider's Federation) was actually started at The Valiant Trooper pub. I am definitely a member of the pub at least...
  3. Hi Gavin - I am in Aldbury (3 miles from Berko). Attempting to resurrect trials this year after a 12 year break on too many other things. Bought a new bike back in December but have only ridden it on some local trails (I am road registered - 4RT which isn't too shabby on the road). I used to be a member of Berko and HUX. I've rejoined HUX as they have a decent practice ground by Denham Aerodrome - go on their website - I think the sessions are every 2nd & 4th Sunday from 10am. Not been up for 12 years but will finally get up there on the 2nd Sunday of June for a blast and then try and do a couple of trials a month between everything else. Not sure if there are PM's on this site but shout if any q's. Cheers. Rob
  4. Perfect - thanks for help.
  5. Probably a dumb question, but have seen lots on slowing the bike down and debates on gearing. Have only pottered the bike on a few local legal trails so far as been busy with work, etc. I reckon first gear is going to be quick for nadgery sections. So if I go for a 9 tooth front sprocket do I need to take a link out of the chain at the same time? 2016 4RT. Dumb question I know...
  6. Sounds like an amazing trip! The Berko trial that rabie refers to is at Great Brickhill which is about 5 miles away (taxi ride) from Leighton Buzzard station. Leighton Buzzard is about 40-45 mins by train from London Euston mainline rail station. Maybe not the most exciting trials venue in the UK (although it's a pretty rural village) but if you contact Berko Trials Club via their website they might be able to give you more info and/or connect you with bike hire (massive assumption on my part...!!!). Would offer you a lift etc but am away snowboarding that week. Enjoy London and PM me if you want any advice on where to go/what to do in London. Cheers.
  7. Great read that - thanks for sharing. Legend.
  8. ...and back again. Looking forward to getting stuck in to a few South Midland Centre trials this year. Not been near a trial in that time as work commitments and a few other sports got in the way. I was riding clubman class back then. No idea what the standard is now. Have sections changed much? What are the entry levels like in SMC? Bought a new Montesa 4RT which I have only ridden down to the village shop so far. Went for it as the quality seems so much better than the other bikes out there. And a bit of a Montesa loyalist having had a 172, 311 and three 315's back in the day. So the 4RT is my first proper trials 4 stroke and, apart from a TLR200 and minter TL125 I had to trail ride on and foolishly sold recently, pulls like a train but seems a wee bit fast at low speed. No worries, read all the chat on changing sprockets. Best is that the 4RT looks like a jet hose and WD40 for maintenance! Anyway, over and out for now. Looking forward to a natter back in the queues! Cheers. Rob
