  1. Had the same wait for my STD. waited 7 months ended up going to another dealer and got a 300RR as STD's where all sold out. A bit of overkill as just getting into trials but 4RT's are hard to find in Australia, but what a bike. 2018 models will be more of the same i think, hard to know what to improve, but a bit lighter would always come in handy.
  2. I heard Honda have been licencing 2 stroke fuel injection systems, could this be the new 2018 Cota. That would really shake things up, with Honda's dealership network it wouldn't take them long to go to number 1 in the Trials world. Unfortunately it's only wishful thinking, i dont think Honda are interested in anything more than getting their bikes into Europe through the Montesa factory and having another world championship on their wall. Would be nice though.
  3. Now we can all wait for the 2017 4Ride. A 350 version would be good to go along with the trials type 260. Something along the lines of a Beta Xtrainer, bigger forks and brakes normal gear ratios, low seat, electric start, shock horror they'd have to have a battery. This is what Honda should be using Montesa for, bikes that are a bit out of the norm. I heard the Xtrainer's are selling like hot cakes and you can't get a second hand one, owners love them. Can anyone tell me why all these modern bikes have to have their seats level with the gas tank it adds inches to the seat height, its not like you want to sit that far up(on the tank) anyway.
  4. Yes heard that 2017 RR to be shown in Italy. Wouldn't get my hopes up for much change after the disappointment of the STD and Repsol.
  5. Does anyone know if it still comes with long ride seat.
  6. You where right no major changes, it just looks like a Honda now.
  7. Agree with s.e. lucus & dwb5151 old Montesa fans i think prefer Montesa red. The kick starter new (off the 300RR) and the fuel pump, is that referring to the new one in the 2016 model or is this a new one again. Would suit Honda fans, looks like their just trying to do one model for the world instead of rebadging for Japan. Was going to buy new 2017 model Cota now might look for 2nd hand 2016 model. A major disappointment. After 2014 then 15 & 16 changes i was hoping Honda had let Montesa a bit of freedom but if that's all they could come up with.
  8. Montesa are calling 300RR 2016/2017 model so it might be a long delay on any new 4RT260's. Didn't they start building 2016 models in July last year. But 300cc on the Repsol and 260 on 4RT standard and cheapen the standard up a bit more and i wouldn't complain. Montesa has had a of a reputation for not changing their bikes much or at all from model to model but come on the last few years they are getting their act together. Honda might be flush with money but anyone who has worked in a subsidiary of a large company knows how had it is to get some of that money their way. Maybe Honda have finally loosened the purse strings to let them do something eg. 4Ride.
