  1. Yep -splat shop or others have them. There are 2 versions so make sure you get the one for your year TXT. Takes about 10 minutes start to finish to replace including grabbing your tools.
  2. Our local dealer is slow. -I can order from England and have it far quicker and often for less $.
  3. Yep - They painted the frame black in 07.
  4. On a car/truck/tractor/etc you have a small overflow bottle for that same reason. Catches that overflow coolant and allows for a reserve. Our machines are too limited on space for the bottle so we need to just check ours and pay a little more attention to the cooling system.
  5. If you are riding crotch rockets it will be fine. The bikes are snappy but nothing any different from a performance road bike.
  6. Ok, the standing part is right but set the bike next to the wall, so it will stand on its own and THEN step up on it (the bike won't fall over as the wall is holding it it up) and now try kicking it over You will be surprised how much easier it will be to start
  7. I just went through the exact same thing - I was told a very easy solution that sounds a little odd but works great! Lean the bike up against something so you can stand on both pegs without it falling over then stand on the BOTH pegs and get a good solid kick. I was also having a problem but now mostly start with one, or two kicks without much effort. It is all technique on these bikes.
  8. Thanks for the Video - thats awesome!
  9. Thank you - off to place an order right now!!!!
  10. Another quick question - on the handlebars - what is the standard size (28.6mm I noticed a few places). I want to replace mine and was not sure what size I need to order and they type of clamps needed? ) Mine look really crappy.
  11. Normally bike/atv's/etc... use something called UMHW plastic. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0070ZASVO/ref=biss_dp_t_asn If it a very tough and slippery plastic that makes a skid plate that will not break, but will slid over an obstruction. If you can find someone that pulled the factory skid plates off a RZR Side by Side for a aftermarket replacement it is this type of plastic and about 1/8 inch and people around here give them away. On UTV's we switch to 1/4 or thicker due to the weight of the machine (1000+ pounds) and the high speed impacts they need to endure. A Rotozip works great for cutting them or even a bandsaw for the outer shape. You can use a heat gun to form it if you need a bit of a bend.
  12. Thanks - when I get back to the bike I am going to check that out..... Also waiting for a bunch of parts to dress it up a bit. THANKS
  13. awesome info - thanks!!! A few update - nope didn't have the throttle open.... My bad. Tried it with the throttle open and hit 120psi so figure thats a good sign! Today I went over twisted the throttle open, then closed quickly. Put on choke, lean on wall, second sharp kick fired right up. Tried it again later this evening after mowing grass and same thing, fired right up!!! victory! Still seems like it maybe jetted a bit rich but not overly worried about that. Next is the thermo switch.. Where exactly is that located on a 07? Thinking the top radiator line connection perhaps? Thanks again everyone
  14. Thanks everyone. Well went out and kicked away today and got it fired up. Rode for a while and while the power is good I did notice the fan did not kick on. Went back and checked the fan (+12V) and it worked fine. Didn't see any drool from the radiator so maybe just not run hard enough to get the fan turned on as I don't run it hard. I did check the compression before I took it out and it seems low 80-90psi. Cant find an online reference for what it exactly should exactly be but judging by One Nou statement it seems kind of low. May need to call a dealer and see if they will give me the exact #'s. Seems to have pretty good power but seeing i never rode one before I have no reference to go off of. Maybe part of the hard start problem however..... Also noticed the exhaust is a little oilly after shut down (Running 70:1).....
  15. Do you happen to know what the compression readings should be for the machine?
  16. Thanks for the info!! I gave it a quick try tonight and it kicked over in about 4 kicks. Hardest thing is getting a full strong kick each time (not those short little choppy kicks). I will do the 2nd gear trick next - thank you. Love the bike, the starting thing is a bit of a pain however - LOL
  17. Went over today and kicked and kicked- no luck. Gave up and did some work around the house and thought I would give it another go. Went over and second kick fired right up and ran like a champ. Rode for bit without any problems and love the bike, just need to understand the starting ritual ???? Anyone know where I can get a service manual?
  18. I recently purchased a Gas Gas TXT Pro 250 and had a few questions: Is a real service manual anywhere to be found ? What is the easy way to start the bike - sometimes it kicks right over and other times it is a workout! What is the factory compression (as measured on a gauge so I can tell how my top end is) Best places to find replacement plastic. THANK YOU
