  1. The pipe that you are on about is the breather for the engine. All you need to do is route it out of the way behind the carb but make sure it cannot melt on the exhaust. The nipple that you are on about is the overflow for the carb and there should be one on either side of the carb. Many people leave these alone but i join the 2 nipples up with some windscreen washer tubing off of a car. If you do this you need to make sure there is a hole in the new pipe to ensure that it still works as an overflow otherwise the bike wont run. The reason i do this is to minimise the chances of water getting in to the carb after jet washing. good luck

  3. they can only ride the expert course so how much can they learn from that,

You're absolutely right, what can riders aged between 13-18 learn from riders in the expert class with riders like Baker, Danby, Thorpe, Vesterinen, Pearson (this years top 5) plus past winners sam haslam, james lampkin, andy huddlestone, darren brice, david knight plus other riders like alexz wigg, lee sampson, shaun morris, michael brown.....do i need to continue? I do believe some of those riders are also ACU coach's. Sorry to be a bit blunt but i think you were out of line there.

The fact is that the acu do have problems with fixtures and i do sympathsise with you but im sure a compromise can be reached. If it comes down to a clash with an adult british champs round then it should not be a problem as it is an ADULT brit champs round and youth can only ride as guests anyway.

Good luck in sorting this out. Scarboro youth trials are a big part in our top riders history so it would be a massive shame if you decided to not run your event.

  5. The essentials of a pre65 bike should be: pre65 engine, drum brakes, cable clutch and twin shocks. Anything else is not really important. The main problem with pre65 trials in my view is the younger riders competing. Dont get me wrong I dont think they shouldn't be allowed - just in a seperate class. There should be a minimum age requirement to challenge for the main award. Forget about the eligibility of the machine because as Mike put, there is no way a bike can be 100% genuine pre65.

  6. Personally I think delegates from clubs/centres should get off their behinds and get to the forums!

Let the clubs pay expenses, travel down Fri night, have a few beers/curry etc then attend the meetings.

Dont agree that delegates from clubs/centres should get expenses for beers and curries and a night in a hotel. Whats wrong with travelling down on the morning? Absolutely disgraceful.

  7. John Hulme is the man you need - he has loads of brochures of old bikes. you can contact him through www.YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE.co.uk (i think)

  8. The important thing is that they are good lads and exceptional talent not that they are in one club. IMHO and proved pretty much when she was riding regularily Maria Conway, MC is definately better. She may have not been riding as much but she finished the Scott didn't she? Have any others (ladies) done that recently, if ever?

Sorry Dabster but have to disagree with you on some issues. First of all Katy Sunter also finished the Scott in 2004 but Maria is the 1st woman for 30+ years to finish it in time so well done to Maria. However saying that MC is the best UK ladies trials rider because she used to beat the others is a load of rubbish as it is like saying that Steve Saunders is better than Doug Lampkin because he used to beat him when he used to ride regularly against him. Becky Cook has proved that not only is she the best UK ladies trials rider of the last few years but also one of the best in the world (i think 2nd at the mo). Also, on current form, Donna Fox is proving to be one of the best. Im not doubting that Maria is a hell of a rider but you just cant compare what she used to be like against what Becky and Donna ARE CURRENTLY doing. If or when Maria rides next surely she can only then be compared to the others. I believe that all 3 of them are in the ladies TDN team, so it should make for interesting viewing.

  9. Pinkie model had white frame, blue forks, silver hubs, grey clutch case & mag cover, pink rear mudguard, pink seat base and green seat. Main difference was front disc (drilled) fitted standard and an expansion bottle for rear suspension (although this may have been on white model too). Hope this helps.
