  1. Thanks very much for the compliments. My camera is a Minolta 5D with a variety of old lenses. Would really like some newer stuff but funds won't allow until I can sell my enduro bike.
  2. Today I had my 2nd attempt at trials photography. Better than the first but still plenty of room for improvement. I've posted on a photography forum for C&C but most of them are landscape photographers so any tips you guys have would be gratefully appreciated. Thankfully I've got a flash gun now because the sun was always either side on or behind the riders and because the only way to get eye contact was to lay on the floor and now my fleece smells of sheep pooh. When trials goes bad, if only I wasn't zoomed in so close to start with: and the all important people without whom grass roots motorsport wouldn't exist. Laters, Kev
  3. I wonder if TBM would consider starting their YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE up again seeing as the other one went to the wall?
  4. They must be watching this thread it's down to a
  5. Ahh the infamous "Tongue of Concentration" a must for all situations needing a lot of focus.
  6. thanks for all the input so far everyone? Are you all talking 2 strokes or 4 though? And are trials bikes pre-mix or auto lube?
  7. Having looked around for some sort of trials school where the bikes are available for hire and only found one in north wales which is a bit of a trek from northumberland it looks like I might just have to sell the trail bike, by a trials bike and see what happens. So I could do with some advice about what to look for. I'm a total beginner and if it makes any difference about 5ft 11 and 16 stone (or 100kg in new money). What CC? 2 stroke or 4? How do they differ within the trials world? What sort of things should I be looking for at 2nd hand trials bikes that I might not look for in any other sort of bike? Thanks all. Kev
  8. If I get round to getting a trials bike how much do those rack things cost which mount on the tow bar, are they any good and who makes them? Cheers Kev
  9. I went to my first trial the other weekend (bedlington & district mc) not to compete but to have a go at taking photos. Probably shouldn't have tried to learn a new subject and a new camera at the same time but I did it none the less. Here's a few of the shots I took and if anyone was competing then let me know and I'll give you a link to the gallery for all the photos. Cheers Kev
  10. I was passed a link to this games site which has four different trials games on it. They're a bit basic looking but a great way to pass the time none the less. Trials construction yard If you use the drop down menu on the left you will find the other trials games listed in there. Enjoy Kev
  11. thanks mate now I'm with you.
  12. Thanks for the rapid response but that place is in amera and don't think I could sneak the air fare past our lass.
  13. Hi folks, My name is Kev and I live in Northumberland. I've got a trail bike at the minute but I never use it and then this weekend just gone I went to my first trial (Bedlington & Distric MC) to practice my photography and I'm dying to have a go now. Before I take the plunge and sell the KTM though I want to find somewhere to get some instruction, hire a bike, do some training you know the kind of thing. So if anyone knows of any trials schools then let me know and I'd be really grateful. See you around Kev PS what's the score with siggies and links to photo galleries are they allowed or not?
  14. I've got a turorial for that if you're interested. I used pics of my dog for it but you could apply it to anything. I wrote it in a bit of a hurry so if there's any questions you have feel free to pm/email me. my tutorial Regards Kev
