  1. Had to re do tank, caswell ethanol proof (?) sealant and respray. Great! But made me put full decals from angliavinylart Looks good, worth doing. It’s a 1981 year.

    Just looked through all the posts.... i may have some more work to do there are a lot of beautiful bikes on here, fair play to you, real nice...... not many Ty50m models...are they few and far between?

    Just finished my ty50m bought it off a bike breaker and it had seen better days.. 1g7 Yamaha serial number puts it as a uk bike. 1977 im in the process of getting her registered for the first time. Hopefully! All the paperwork with the dvla at the moment so who knows!! any one else tried to register a similar bike for the first time? How did it go?
  4. Got her running well, now the fuel gets through and yeah you were right to start trialling on this would be a mistake. Power in spades, awesome to just ride out... After all the work, they are well put together and I'm going to do another.... so may be interested in selling her if anyone's interested.. shes got the v5 now in my name.

  6. Ta for reply. Tanks been replaced, seats all wrong also from others I've looked at? Frame and engine is though, you think? would I find a white tank? Or would I be wasting my time ? Make one?
  7. Oh and the red Montesa symbol on the left hand side of the engine was like crayon and came off on the first clean. The same symbol seems permanent or original on the right side? apparently this was bought over for the isdt but ?
  8. Hello, just found this post and I ended up buying the bike. Never had a trial bike thought I'd have a go at renovating one and here goes. its a 1981, white 'wonder' as someone's referred to it as on one of the hundred posts I've read so far. The frames been painted black over the original red and the tank red over the orig white. 51m22907 fits with this. the question now is do I put it back to its original white wonder status or keep with the redd? what do you boys, in the know, think and are there any pointers with regard to the history of this bike? Problems, things I should look out for? wheres the best place in the uk to source reasonably priced parts? Or do I go abroad? Southwest Montesa in the USA was really helpful. wheres the best place to get diagrams and manuals? Thanks and any advice always appreciated cheers, Midds
