I couldnt agree more, a hidden fixing would be best. However using either a cable tie or a simple fixing would be better than having no side panel or one with cracks all over it.
There are some side panel stickers on evil bay, i have just got a set, they are quite good.
As for the Knob on the gate, hands of that!!!!!!
-
The original panels were held on with lugs that go through a rubber grommet. It might be possble to bond a small eye onto the rear and then use a hidden cable tie.
-
-
They can be made in any colour. Just need to use different base material. Then no need to paint.
-
After many molds of my original side panels i have now vac formed the following pair.
Tell me what you think?
Is there a market for them?

Hi All.
Should i be running
my front sprocket with the flange towards the engine or away?
The reason i ask is that it is currently flange out and it seems the chain is rubbing on the engine case. Any input appreciated.

Hi all.
My 200 is fitted with the orriginal back box. It has been cut open in the past at both ends. I decided to take a look in it so cut the end off. In side there was no packing, just a well gummed up perferated tube.
It has seen better days with the perferated tubes from the two back pipes rusty and not attached well.
Do i try and re-pair then re-pack or purchase an aftermaket box?
Thank-you for your ideas.

So i know we are suffering from Global warming and yes that might mean the UK could have at least a week of uninterrupted sun however i don

All. Have fitted a set of the budget NJB's on my 200. I weigh, on a good day 13 stone. I have been talking with Norman from NJB, (bloody nice chap) about them bottoming out. He sent me some harder springs but these were still bottoming out when i try and go up a 1.5ft step.
I have sent them backto him now and i am looking to try some of the NJB trick shocks before we make any further moves.
Any one using these shocks? What do you make of them on a 200?
-
Any one know where i can get hold of a cover for the seat on my 200. The current seat has a vinal that has split down the sides.
Any ideas would be good.

Ta Dicker.
At least i make an effort to enter a section through the start and not the end gate!!!!!!

Does anyone know the size of the bearings needed for the rear wheel on a 200?
Also why has my 200 got 2 oil seals in the front forks? Is this a benefit, are there any imrovements that i can make to there operation?
Ta.

Glad you had a good time. Think most of the sections were ok, and people enjoyed it. Cant get over it being sunny and dry!!!
Look forward to next year and the Dartmoor 2 day in a couple of months.

This is the 25th anniversary of the 3 day event. Run for twin shock and pre-65.
Trials run over easter weekend over 3 venues on Exmoor.
-
Anyone on this site coming down south for the Exmoor 3 day?
-
Replaced pick-up wire, as well as feed from LT to HT coil. Test rode bike last night for an hour or so and it seems to have curred the problem.
I will take it out this weekend when we are marking out some of the Exmoor 3 day sections.
Hope to see some of you there.
Thanks for all assistance.

Ok, so fitted a brand new HT coil. Start first kick. Went on same trip around our block. When hot i stoped and let the bike go to tick over. After 10 secs it just died. Then would not kick start. It would bump start ok. When i got back to my garage i used the stop button to kill it. Then re-started it fine with the kick start. Time and time again it started first kick as long as i turned it off with the kill switch.
Any ideas?

I have fitted new plug and plug top. Bike started first kick. After a blast around the block at home to warm her up she cut out. No way she would start with the kick start. Took out the plug while still warm. No spark. Took resistance reedings again they had increased. Red to Black, from 509R cold to 561R hot. Black to Green, 549R cold to 603R hot.
HT coil was still cold to touch on return.
Any ideas?
Has anyone got contact details for companies that will re-wind my stator?
-
Thank-you Lee.
Meter readings are as follows. Red to Black 509 ohms. Red to Green 549 ohms. Black to Green 39.6 ohms.
Coil looks to have been replaced recently. I think its a Ducati one. You did id it for me in another post.
Think i will fit another new plug and plug top. It has a NGK resistive plug at the mo, will go for a standard one.
Any other tests i can do on the HT side?

Hi All
After many hours and a fare bit of cash, not to mention help from a Brit over in Germany, i took the old girl our for the first time today to an easy afternoon trial. All going well for the first couple of section. Then the old girl would not start. Ended up with a bump start and would run fine.
Come the last few sections the old thing would end up dying on tick over.
Background.
Engine has been re-built, all new seals, new plug, new dellorto carb.
Original coil, original wires from coil to engine.
Any thaughts? What resistances should i be looking for when checking coil?
Thank-you in advance.
-
Just spent out some of my hard earned dosh on a new carb. After replacing all the internals on my old one and it still not wanting to tick over bit the bullet and contacted Dellorto UK. Gave them bike details as they requested, received carb, all bar the pilot are correct. They have fitted a 48 not a 44. After an email to them and them checking there info a second time they are insistent that the pilot on a 200 Fantic 156cc should be a 48.
What do you think?

I have just fitted my old Scorpa Michy onto my 200 Fantic rear wheel with out any probs.
