Day 2 is at Cove, near Tiverton. We will be setting that up through the normal river sections, hill climb as well as a couple of new areas we have cut out. I think the first day is on Exmoor. I will find out exactley and post again. I will also find out where entry forms are available.

Thank-you for the info. I have a couple more pics here. Will take some more without the break plate in place.

Can any one help me id the folowing wheels? Both the front and rear ali wheels have TAKASAGO stamped on them. J 18A/1.85 on front and 1.60 x 21 on rear.
Front wheel has a speedo drive that seems to be built into the hub.
Thank-you in advance.

Happy New Year to all.
I am re-building a 200. It was fitted with a TY 250 front wheel and a TY rear. I have sourced a front wheel from on any sunday motors down here in Somerset. It is rather bent but will do for the time being. I would like to get hold of the correct rear wheel. I will need break plate, spindel and spacers. Any one have any idea where i can source one?

Ta for that.
How do i tell what coil is fitted. It is a black box under the tank, has HT lead out at front end, 4 spade terminals at the rear. Box is 100mm long by 50mm heigh.

I need to install a kill switch on my 200. Which of the 3 cables that come off the management unit do i need to ground to earth through the kill switch?
Steve.

250ml fork oil. Per leg.
I have just re-built my 200 Fantic engine. Can anyone confirm that i am timing it up correctly?
Placed dial guage down onto the top of the piston.
Centred it on "0" at TDC.
This is where i get lost! Do it rotate it clockwise or anti clockwise?
Is it correct to move it 1.6mm?
Line up the single mark on the fly wheel in between the two marks on the pick up sensor.
Thank-you for any help.

Hi All.
Have just finished re-building my Fantic 200 engine. All good so far. Put kick start on when engine on bench. Kicks over with no nock or stick. However when i turn it over on the fly wheel i get a click from the kick start area. As i have no manual i can not be sure how the kick start mechanism works.
How does it disengage?
what position should the ratchet be in on the kick start shaft?
Second little issue.
Head gasket, in the gasket kit i got to re-build the engine with there were 2 head gaskets. 1 with cut outs in it that position on to the head bolts. The second is just a round ring.
Which one should i fit?
Thank-you.
Steve.

Thank-you for that. I have just re-built the engine so have had a good look over all of its surface looking for an engine number. It does not seem to have one. This i think will pose a problem when trying to register it. Any ideas?

Hi there. We were due to run round 12 of Champ, however field for parking is no good, had to cancel. Next trial down here is Exmoor, 07-12-08 will be a good one. See you there?

I fitted 1999 Gas Gas 249 front disk on my 03 Scorpa. The scorpa disk has movement on the hub, it tends to be a bit off putting when doing tight turns. The GasGas front disk fits straight onto the scorpa wheel hub, bolts on tight, giving no movement.

Thank-you that info.
Can anyone tell me who is the UK expert i can ask for a letter from and will be able to date the bike?

Any info would be great.

I have just picked up a 200 Fantic, all looked good untill i removed the side case and felt the end float on the fly wheel. Looks like i will need to strip the lot. I would like to look through a manual before i start, does anyone no where i can get hold of one from please?

Hi there.
Just to rule out the cable disconnect it in the twist grip start it with choke and then see what happens. I had a similar problem last weekend with my scorpa after i re-routing the cable, adjusted the length on the top of carb and all ok.

Hi there.
Not sure of the value over with you but i am looking to get

Had the same problem with my Scorpa. Could not move it even with Mole Grips. In the end i had the bike on its side, took the largest nut i could find that would sit on the drain plug and used my mig welder to weld the two together. Just filled up the center of the nut with weld. Socket on the adjoined nut whilst still hot and out she came. New plug from Birkett, and no problem since.
-
So the Scorpa manual recommends Champion spark plugs, with a gap of 0.7 to 0.85. However my 07 scorpa is running an NGK.
What is recomended or the norm?

Ok i will rephrase my question. How much of the top of the forks should,(for the average rider) pertrude past the top of the yoke?
-
Can any one tell me how much the top of my forks should protrude through the top yoke? I have an 07 scorpa, i was sat in a que yesterday waiting to ride a section and the guy next to me advised me to raise them to a scribed mark, about 5 mm down from the top of the fork leg, then to move the bars froward more. What efect will this have?
