  3. My dad had a 2003 model which he found a little bit overpowered!! We changed the front cog from a 10 tooth to a 9 tooth and also put slow throttle on, made big difference and much more rideable. Even for a 67year old novice. Has since changed to Scorpa 250 and feels much more at home.
  4. Hi all, had a cracking ride yesterday . I got an SY250 2005 whithout a side stand and I would like one, fed up of trying to find suitable trees to lean it up to. Where do I go to get one. Phoned Birketts and they wanted what seemed alot of money and they said they are rubbish, so don't want to spend money on rubbish. Tried company on Ebay that says he can supply any new part but never heard back after 2 emails. Is there anywhere that do them cheaper or can an alternative be used or has anyone out there got one they would like to part with? Thanks Steve
  5. When I had my 95 works I mixed 75ml of good 2 stroke oil to 5 litres of fuel, actually still do same mix for my 2005 sy250, all seems fine.
  6. Thanks for the tips. I thought I would give the bike one last chance before getting down to stripping bits of and bugger me she fired up. Why then I don't know but it is running ok now. Steve
  7. Thanks alot for the replies. When you have not done anything like this before it can seem abit daunting. Good tip about filter will get one on order asap. Thanks Steve
  8. No they have not sagged. They are ally pegs and the teeth have worn down enough not to grip boot to well, so am finding boot is slipping off a little to easy. For safety reasons need to replace.
  9. Hi, it seems in the very near future the bike is going to need some new footpegs. What is out there to buy that are good but not bank breaking money. Have seen some for
  10. Hi, thanks for input. Have checked rad wires seem fine, loop connector seems fine. The air box did have a bit of water and muck in the bottom and I noticed some muck on edge of enterance to carb so maybe some has got in to it. If this is the case I will need t ocheck, so next Q how do you remove carb the easiest way. When it is off this will be the first time of looking at a carb what am I looking at and what should I be looking for. Thanks Steve
  11. Hi all, I have an 05 sy250. Went out on it yesterday for first time after buying it and had a lovely day. Bike worked well all day then hosed it down and now nothing. There is a spark some fuel is getting through, not sure how much should be comming through when put hand over barrel. Went through stream quite abit bit not to deep. Any info would be very helpful asd I think the bike is lovely to ride. Steve
