    Ttc 58k?

The 58K gets its name from the original owners of the Trials Training Center, Tony and Laura Bussing. When they bought the land, 600+ acres on the sides of a couple of mountains, they bought it for 90 dollars an acre!!!. Thus 58K is what they paid for it. If you've never been there, it is Trials heaven. Miles of trails, sections everywhere you look, terrain to fill your every desire, great facilites, parking, etc. We in ther STRA are blessed to be able to ride there free whenever we want.
  2. Been reading about the "Past Masters" trial at Hawkstone. What a neat idea. Wish someone (how about it Dan Brown & TTC) would put together something similiar here in the states at a National. Of course that begs the questions: Who would be invited, who would actually ride, who would win, what brands would they ride, would they ride bikes similiar to what they rode then or on new ones, would there be any interest?
  3. I was there at the World Round in Tn. and listened to the sound coming from those big 4-strokes of the Repsol team. I sold my Hon-tesa 4-stroke a few months back, but I have decided that, if I get another, I'm going to paint it Dark Green with Yellow rims. Then I will put the appropriately sized John Deere stickers in all the proper places. It'll be awesome and a real hoot when I'm sitting at a gas station filling up the truck or the Wing.
  4. When comparing Sanz to our top riders, one point has not been mentioned. She is a professional, getting a paycheck to do nothing but ride and is aboard the best bike Honda/Montesa can give her. When she does ride she has spotters and mechanics at her disposal. While Geoff and perhaps Chris are getting paid and getting their bikes, I can only assume they are not getting the other bonuses. I would also assume that Cody is getting the same level of support or less.
  5. With the front one out, it may be a little softer on the bottom, but, with any of them out the bike is louder. Being a street rider and hating all the noise those damn harleys and harley wannabes make, I am against making anything louder. What really p---es me off is the fact that every law enforcement agency in the country has elected to ignore the fact that there are ordinances and laws against loud pipes. Ah, got that off my chest and I now feel better.
  6. Hensley, Sorry, didn't mean to mislead, I didn't see the results, just that a Chris Webber won the open class. I saw that on the Lewisport website.
  7. I see that the West Youth Nationals are in the books for 2005. Congratulations to all those who rode and thanks to all those involved in putting them on. I have a question though. I am unfamiliar with the young man who won the Open Class out West. How old is he? May I assume he doesn't ride the Nationals, since I haven't heard the name? Also, is there someone reading this post who is familiar with both he and the East Open Champion, Will Ibsen. How do they compare skill wise? Just curious.

    Oil Change

I'm getting different schools of thought on what oils to use in the 4RT. What the owner's manual calls for isn't readily available here in the states. For the motor, I've been told regular 10 w 40 and Silkolene synthetic 10 w 50. For the transmission, Silkolene Light 75-80 weight. Any bad experiences using these lubricants? Also, how often is everyone changing oil and filter for the motor and transmission fluid. Do I really need to replace those little o-rings every time I put in a new filter? Thanks
  9. I'm guessing he means "lines" or "classes". Here in the U.S. it varies a little between different parts of the country because we have different sanctioning bodies or associations. In the Southeast U.S. we have Vintage competition with four lines of difficulty. For the modern bikes we have 6. Of course, there are some occasions where two classes will ride the same line during part of the section. Our classes are: ( from easiest to hardest ) Novice - Intermediate -Sportsman - Advanced - Expert - Pro. Hope I've helped.
  10. Appreciate the replys, all. As I suspected, the only value is to me and that's really all I wanted out of the effort.
  11. Just want to get a feel from the world trials community what they think. If someone had a gas tank off an 05 Montesa 4RT that was signed by all three of the factory riders, Fugi, Dougie and Marc Frexia, is it worth more than a stock tank. Obviously, it would be a little more valuable to a big Hon-tesa owner/fan. Assuming a replacement cost of about 550 bucks American, what do you think someone would pay for it? By the way, I'm not selling it. I'm just curious if it is as valuable as some are trying to convince me it is. p.s. Picture of said tank under Montesa thread. Thanks

    Hon-tesa

The Fugi-Gas Edition fenders are a little loud and colorful for my taste. I would like to put some more RTL graphics on it but just haven't pursued it yet. As far as selling my tank on E-bay, I thought about it but didn't think it would bring that much over the cost of replacing it. Also thought about auctioning it off with proceeds above replacement cost going to the U.S. Trials Des Nations Team. Just don't want to part with it right now. I understand replacment cost if about 550 dollars. I have taken all references to Montesa off it already.
  13. Re: 4RT starting When cold mine starts first kick, however, when it's hot, I have had to kick it several times. I think the problem is me though. I think I am still "Kicking" it rather than pushing it through. While in Duluth last month, I described this minor irritation to Amos Bilbao who helped test and develop the bike. He said that when it is hot to twist throttle quickly all the way open then reelease before kicking it. This has seemed to help. Again I think I am still "Kicking" it like my old 315R rather than pushing it through.
