Firstly I've ridden the hard route for a good number of years but have down graded for 2004 to the intermediates as the hard route was begining to hurt to much.
How about we have a head to head at a Scotish trial of your choice.
By the way it's ride not right.
Hey perce calm down i'm only having a joke nice to see your still on your tip toes.
I'll have to think twice now on doing the Ian Pollock as you seem really big (girl ).

"How about we have a head to head at a Scotish trial of your choice." and that goes to you as well (monty-python)
"i was riding along and if keeped jumping (every time it ticked over)."
What i mean by the above is when you are riding along the bike i jumping when you have got it in gear every time the pison turnswhen you let the bike tick over.
I also does not rev out ride felts like it is chocking its self ( there is a lot of smoke coming from the exhust).
I have just put a new spark pulg in because the other one was oily. The new one made a bit of a difference but the oil And smoke coming from the exhust is not really.
1- I have just cleaned out the airbox and carb to make sure there is no dirt of water about.
When i went to start the bike i was riding along and if keeped jumping (every time it ticked over). Also i would not rev out right felt like it was chocking and would not chande gear very well.
2-When the bike is in nutrual when you try to push it is very hard like i fells like it is in gear. But when you pull is backwards it is easy. (why is this).
Right i'm thinks of a swap of bike in 2005 and am looking at Sherco.
The only point that puts me off buying a Sherco is it's frame. The Montesa has a solid, strong frame but to me the Sherco looks to have a week frame around where the shock and where the back mud guard sites.
Same all i have to do is take the tank off and take the slide out of the carb and can get carb off in about 1 minute.
Or you can leave the tank on and take the carb out and pull the trottle cable through if you want so all you have to do is losen the clips and thats it
is there any tips for handleing deep mud about 90cm?
What thats nearlly a meter deep are you sure!!!!!
When there there is deep mud in frond of me get the bike up to speed in 4 and lift the front wheel just before it and then keep the revs going nice and smooth.
Try and not spin the back wheel and that will lose you grip and then you get stuck.
Soap on hot water thats what i use gets all that oily stuff out. After you have washed it leave it to dry and then when you put it back in your bike add some air filter oil.
BRASO the stuff to clean brass pots. But you can get that stuff to clean silver products, chrome as well i use it all over my bike spokes, downpipe works a treat.
PS. Wonderboy do you have the rubberised foam strip stuck to the under-side of your fender that seals the gap between the fender and top ridge of the air box ???
No i've put ductap there. Also my air filter does not tuck under the lid but i'll start to do it from now on.
The 4 holes i have covered up with silicon (does this restrick air ) should i use the metal mesh stuff.
If you have time please do post a pic i would like to see what you have done. Also my air filter foam stuff comes under the lid a bit (sticks out) so maybe the is taking all the water in.

I've taken the carb to bits and even the pilot jet out there is no dirt at all in the carb any more. What else could it be.
