  1. Actually, I think the opposite is true. Nothing like Xispa. No comparison. Marketing launch was brilliant. In a relatively short time put together and new factory and launch and 2stroke with new technology that makes the others look like lawnmowers. If the bikes is as good, then look out!

Not like the old days. The MAR to years to come out.

  2. tlm 250 as they had the single disc on front. i used to have a tlm 240 a fantasic bike used it every weekend for several years never touched engine.now got tlm 200.put a new plug in 5 years ago never touched since gets used for pratice and half a dozen trials a year.why cant modern bikes be made like this?

    Good Question.

  3. They'd like to have Bou but will settle for Fajardo.

The bike looks very impressive. Like the idea of a 2T with Fuel injection. Gas Gas and Sherco better get busy. 4 lbs lighter than a Pro. Nice to see the photos of Colomer riding. He was always my favorite. Very stylish.

  4. the tooling used to bend the short spoke was changed so that a smooth bend was produced and that was an improvement but the real improvement was the change from Akront rims to D.I.D.

  5. Translated from Solo Moto Off Road

    Trial Presentation Model 300

    XISPA leads to XPA

Although it seems the same, it is not; XISPA continues and XPA is born.

Not exactly a 'new' brand, because it certainly bears the stamp of the first 'low-cost'-trial.

"XPA is a brand new trial bike," said Enric Messeguer, founder and owner of XISPA, and one of the leaders of the new direction being taken by the Spanish company. This is a new company, born from the hand of Upper Motor Group, an investment group, owner of XPA-, but has roots in the XISPA, who in his second period was devoted to making trial bikes over 50cc economic . Messeguer comments he is not involved 100% in the new project, and who it is supported by David Cobos, as a test driver and developer of the bike, and Tuz

  6. 1) A Gas Gas that "runs forever" isn't that an oxymoron ?

    2) A side valve isn't Outside the Box its' inside an Old Box.

Not sure the Lawnmower Tech is gonna help sell it......if they ever build it.

  7. I've seen late model gassers with squashed frame tubes so sherco isn't the only brand to suffer from this, even the montesa & beta beam frames will dent if dropped hard enough

Tony, anything will dent "if dropped hard enough".

Every Mont I have owned has had stops. and I have owned many. The Beta has stops. The Scorpa too.

All motorcycles have fork stops, Street, MX, Enduro.

A trials bike is the one that spends more time on the stops than the others type of bike.

also, trials bikes are subject to alot of get off's and it is here where the bike may cartwheel and the front end banged about.

Allowing a sharp edge bottom clamp to impact a frame tube in a critical area with the forces that can be generated is a poor design.

The pity is that its an easy fix. Weld on a small wing tab and Bob's ur uncle, but then maybe its just an oversight.

  8. Most definaely a FIVE!!

The minder definately helped him up too. You can see the observer realising that it is infact Toni Bou and he shouldn't 5 him cos he is a fellow spaniard so instead just lets him away with a one!

    Cheating ********!!!

Strong words calling someone a cheat. Cheating requires intent.

It is clear to see that the minder was surprised by Bou. He lost his balance and his tool belt. He grasped at the bike but it is hard to see if it helped Bou or not. It all happens in the blink of an eye. I am with Dan Williams on this one: the benefit of the doubt goes to the rider.

Or the observer made a great call. He saw the minder touch the bike but judged it to be unimportant.

  9. A solution could be to have 5 easy sections so the riders trying to break in to the wtc can at least have some encouragement to turnup again,5 medium and 5 bloody horrendous to give the top boys a chance to showcase their talents and clawback that wild 5 they had whilst hanging on for a clean.

This is what is supposed to be done. The FIM simply failed to do their job. First they make it too hard then too easy. You would think that this was their first time putting on a Trial.

As for ties being broken by the fastest finisher, imagine a tie at the Brittish Open of Golf being decided by who walked the course fastest!

There is a great opportunity here for a dramatic sudden death play off. Great for TV and spectators.

  10. it makes no sense to compare the life of a four stroke MX to a four stroke trials.

there are lots of Honda RTL, TLR and TL four strokes that have been running for decades without ever having the head off.

the most expensive trials bike to maintain is a certain lightweight two stroke.

  11. most of the manufacturers are small european companies who can't afford the development costs of building a 4stroke,honda/montesa excluded

Beta, Sherco, Scorpa and Gas Gas have all developed 4 strokes, or did I miss something?

why does it have to be either 2T or 4T? why can't we have both? that seems to be what the market wants.

If Euro emission laws ever catch up with the 2T trials manufacturers then it may just be the 4T that keep them in business.

maybe the Ossa will be the first clean 2T and the others will have to follow the newcomer.

  12. Our rules aren't that strict and it's not considered cheating. The only rules are; twinshock, aircooled, no hydrolics. There is a guy with an '04 315R with twinshocks, home made drum brakes(he's a machinist), and an engine out of a Banshee 4 wheeler.

What a terrible thing to do to a 315R !!! Especially a 2004 as they were lovely bikes :crying:

  13. I heard from my local bike shop, today that the montesa will cease to be made after 2012. He reckons he was told that they have enough parts to make the bikes for the next 2 years and then thats it? Apparently they are just not shifting the units. I never asked about his source but he's not any kind of bull****ter I just thought it strange that I hadnt read it anywhere like TMX first??

All Japanses factories use "just in time" system so they do not STOCK parts in inventory. This is just another rumor.
