  1. Commo was having an incredible heat holding onto second...almost appearing to be riding over his head....and then went over his head (literally!)...I assume he was too sore to come back to the semis.

Ronnie didn't even know where he was after the crash. Pops pulled the plug on the rest of Ronnie's evening. Smart move. Ronnie is really, really stepped up his off-road skills. With a little luck he'll be in a main event sooner or later.

  2. I agree, Webb looked very good on the GG - seems he likes it! Another thing I came away with at the RI event was Smage's bike didnt sound quite right at full wick - it didnt hit a nice clean, high rpm, crescendo on the launches - The 2009 bikes (shercos) sounded better. (Cody's bike sounded perfect) I wonder if the new air intake or exhaust are not flowing as well.

This is about an accurate comment as it goes. Cody is riding super top form right now. Pat and the gang at Sherco have gotta sort out the bike issues and take 3 out of 4 if he wants to pull this miracle off. It's going to be an exciting finish to the season.

Sure hate to see the title change hands, but if it be, it couldn't happen to a more deserving person. The Webb's pour their heart and soul into trials.

  3. Thanks for the story Craig. I've headlined it as the previous headline was also about Pat. It's a real shame the way things have worked out, but he's totally right. If he's not enjoying it then why should he do it? The travel is bad enough for me who is mostly only going from the UK to mainland Europe without the transatlantic stuff, jetlag and the cultural changes which it was obvious he struggled with.

Fair play to the lad for being up-front and honest about it.

You're welcome, Andy. Pat pays attention to the comments posted here (and elsewhere), and was man enough to pony-up a response to your readers and his fans. But don't expect him to reply to every rumor or bit of gossip posted as to his whereabouts or his intentions. That's just not his style.

I'm glad he's enjoying life again. Now we can all go back to just going to events and just "have fun", without the ton of pressure of pleasing others. After all, isn't that what it should be all about?

  4. Well, it's true. Patrick will not be returning to WCT in 2010. Reasons are many, but the simple answer is, he doesn't enjoy the down time between events.

The news hit me hard, as I, like many, would love to see the USA on top of the trials world, again. I know Patrick has the skills, he just lacks the desire. That said, I'm still going to be his #1 fan.

  5. Check out the time frame between 1 minute 1 second and 1 minute 4 seconds.

Watch closely as the minder clearly grabs Bou's front forks and then Bou dabs and the minder quickly pulls away. Then try to watch the observer score the thing. Watch as his hand is closed, then slowly opens to what looks like a five, then quickly just holds up one finger. What do you think Bou actually score on his card? You make the call.

  6. You have to embrace the coulture to order to be competitive

Hogwash. Pat's already one of the most competitive riders in the world. All Patrick needs to do is compete in ALL the rounds. Then we'll see if he's championship material.

  7. Okay, I'll fire one out. If Patrick does attempt all WTC rounds this year, I'll bet he has a shot at the title.

The keyword being "All". Who's going to fund him, I'm done paying.

  8. Cheap shot there Craig (happy new year BTW). Leading the first few stages of the Dakar ain't worth a jot. Sherco probably told him to go like stink in the first stage and get our names in lights. Quite sensible really.

If Beta, Gas Gas, or any other trials focused manufacturers was leading after 2 stages, I'd bet those followers would be gloating, too. Oh, and Happy New Year right back at ya.

  9. Does anyone read print anymore? Shan recently added Enduro to the title of Trials Comp, and I think the paper looks stronger than ever. Now all the top Enduro fans now can see why the trials guys are so good. Plus us trials guys can read up on all the top Enduro guys.

Talk about a Win/Win for us dual sport riders. Well done, Shan. Well done.
