  1. Full can of Premixed Petrol, Spare Plug and Key, Things to eat and plenty to Drink ( Water or Sugary drink, Not Whisky) Change of clothes, make sure that you have a Helmet and Boots that are the Proper kind, possibly Gloves! If you need tips on Tyre pressure or anything else on the Bike setup don't hesitate to ask anyone around you. Folks will be only be to Glad to help you out, just say that this is your first trial and i'm certain you will be looked after!!!!!

  2. It astounds me by reading folks views on this matter that some are prepared to take and not give on this issue! If i want to take part properly, in that i mean with an observer present which means He/Her giving their time to stand and Help out on the Day then Surely it's only right that you take a turn!!! Our Club has the understanding that if you want to be part of the Championship, every Rider has to Observe one Trial that way the Scoring at the End of the Year is Fair and also ensuring the Years Championship will continue without too much trouble!! Though i can see the problem with a Trial that has a Larger turnout!

  3. Your right, you will be nervous! But everyone has to start somewhere, so just try to stay calm at the first section and don't go first........ wait till near the end so you can watch the other riders walk the section then observe which lines they take through it! After you ride the first one then the nerves will ease........ then it's time to enjoy!!! And make sure you have all what you will need on the Day too!

  4. Hold down the CRTL key and twiddle your mouse wheel up and down till it's back to the right size.

Note - only twiddle your mouse wheel. If you twiddle something else you might need large writing

Many thanks Andy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never knew that the Control Button did that. And i will keep the Twiddling something else to ma self! :bouncy:

  5. Sorry in advance to viewers of this topic, as it has nothing to do with trials!!! Though i was hoping that somone reading this can help me resizing this page! I'm currently reading this and the Font size is Massive. Last night i did something that i can't fix! I clicked on something and abnd Scrolled the mouse button and the Writing and everything else went Huge and i cant find out how to return to normal!!! I do hope this makes sense to someone!! :bouncy: Iv'e logged out then back in again, but still the same problem. though i suppose i could just sit about 8 Feet back from the monitor, then it would be Sound!!! many thanks............

  6. I had a similar issue on my 06, and I changed the o-rings, fitted the large diameter hose and replaced the plates and set the finger height to spec......................it made almost not change!

What I then did was to get one of these skimmed clutch springs .clutch spring and it has been great since then.

even with postage from USA it was still a cheep mod, clutch is now superlight and I dont get any clutch slip, so it could be worth a try for you.

I have a 2005 250 and would also like to make the clutch pull lighter, you don't notice it at first when on the Bike for a short time though after a few hours you certainly do ! So do you think by investing on this " Clutch spring" for my 2005 it would make it easier for me ? Many thanks, Hoggle ! :D

  7. I was kind of a beginner last year and got a 2005 Gas Gas 250 pro, and although it was my first Trials bike for 25 Years i think it has plenty of power and have never had a problem doing any sections on it. It would be a good idea to let people know where your from by saying so on your Profile as if your close to a Trial go along and someone might let you have a wee spin on a bike to show you what the bikes are capable of ! Because it depends on a Few things like Experience, Weight, Age, Ability....etc !

  8. Hello there Kibsy ! Although i have no idea where in the North you can recieve lessons, i reckon if you have a place where to practice regulary this can improve your riding as the more you can get time on your bike the better you will become. Try to join a local Trials Club if you can as the Guys there will help you with most riding questions, also Send off for the Ryan Young Dvd which although quite pricy it has all you need to get started and some more advanced stuff in it too !

  9. Don't know of any shops near Ringwood, though i do have happy memories of my time staying in a wee place just outside it called Crow hill ! Beautiful area to live in, but don't know if you were allowed to ride Trials bikes there as it was before i got back into riding again !

  10. The same sort of question was raised this week on another thread. I also have the same problem when it's cold with the Carb icing up, i start the Bike then run it for a wee while then turn it off then let it sit for a couple of minutes that lets the Heat through from the Engine into the Carb. Start it up again then all should be well !

  11. If you warm the bike up then let it stand for 10 mins with the engine stopped the heat works its way to the carb (as there is no cold air going through it). it helps a bit as well

Spot on IKB ! I have a 2005 250 too and i was out a few times over the holidays and suffered the same thing as well. I was told recently to do the same as you described above and was spot on advice !

  12. All has offs mate, part of the sport, to be honest coming off alot shows you are pushing yourself, start worrying when you ride all day without crashing.

Good point about the lever ends, never ride with a bust one, you dont realise how many times you get hit with a ball ended lever in crashes untill its not there. I use a large guarded blade mitre saw alot in my job, a few years ago the guard bust and I cut my finger with 30 seconds of using it, hadnt realised my hand actually touched the guard untill it wasnt there.

How do you ride with only one Hand ?

  13. I had a great day, but I apologise to anyone who has taken any notice of anything I have written and urge you to not do so in the future. It is clear I don't know what I'm talking about!

It's the first line that you said that makes it so worthwhile ! I also have taken up the Sport after a long absence, and this time round it's purely for fun. I turned 40 a couple of weeks back and can't believe how much i enjoy going along to the various meetings i attend, though it's hard work but well worth it !
