  1. Had the exact same problem on my son's 2012 125 about three weeks ago... Shifter would stick in the up position, and only return with a tap of the lever. Disassembled expecting to find spring parts in the bottom of the case, but no broken spring. Seemed that the spring had become dislodged, but also may have become weak or slightly bent somehow, as it wouldn't seat and stay for very long when we tried to simply put it back in place. So, we did the job over a second time and replaced with a new spring - Viola, all is good again! Save yourself the 2nd tear down, and just put a new spring in on the first go... The cost of the part is much less than the aggravation of doing the job twice!

    Sherco X-Ride

Hmmm, will be interesting to see about registration... I'll let you know how that goes. Would be a sweet deal to have it street legal!

    Sherco X-Ride

I have one on the way Cope... Make your way to the TI final event/banquet this year, and maybe you can even throw a leg over it! Wheeee, Christmas in October!
  4. Great weekend Doug, you all put on a fantastic event!!! And thanks for ordering up that perfect weather!
  5. Scorpa has just reintroduced the T-ride, in both a 280 and 125. It is the sister bike to the Sherco X-Ride which is a 290. Not certain if the Scorpa version will be imported into the US, however the plan is to bring in the Sherco. As for changes to the 2013 trials line, have not seen any news on the release...
  6. It is true, the factory specified chain for the stock bike will be the "ideal" fit. Not certain that ALL of the bikes actually come with a half-link though, as we were just discussing this at the Ohio National when I was getting a new chain there, and there was some uncertainty depending on model. That being said, and as I stated in my post "you CAN use any chain" - yes, tensioner size as well as sprocket size will come into play in this equation too... In fact to that point, if you have switched to a 9 tooth sprocket on the front (as many do), you will find the stock chain is long, and you will be spinning your snail cams. So there are definitely variables to be considered. If you want absolute perfection, and the wheelbase at the optimal length as designed, and you have stock sprockets, etc., then by all means use the factory chain! And Mark will feel much better if you do!!
  7. Anthony, 520 is correct - No O-Ring - you don't want the add'l drag this will bring and the trials bike really doesn't need an o-ring chain in any case. You can use any chain, even if it doesn't have the half-link. Just use your snail adjusters to get the correct tensioning. Should be approx 100 links for correct length, give or take.
  8. +1 on what Cope said... I clean out my son's carb after just about every heavy wash with the pressure washer. And when I don't take the 15 minutes to do it, I'm generally rewarded with a bike that begins running poorly and requires the effort when I least want to do it! It doesn't take much water and/or grit to get into the carb before you suffer performance issues. On the newer ('10 and up) bikes, my experience is that removing, cleaning and re-installing the carb is 15 - 20 minutes in effort at most... well worth the time.
  9. He's been practically jumping out of his own skin, anxious to get down there. He goes week after next, right after Trials Training Days at TTC. What a great way to launch the season, although weather has been good here in PA this winter, so he's been able to get some riding in.
  10. I'll second that Doug! Andrew and me can't wait to get the new season rolling!
  11. The 2010 Raga models were basically the introduction of the 2011 chassis, so you should be good to go with the '10 from a comparative standpoint of the frame. I had a 2010 Raga 250, and it had more punch to it than a stock 2011 250, so can only assume that the 300 would have quite a bit of bark to it...
  12. Thanks for the kind words Doug, he's making me a proud dad, and sure can kick my butt on a trials bike too! And yes, I have a feeling new gear will be required... Very fashion conscious, this trials community!
  13. Hey Doug, kudos to the entire crew at Stoney, you guys put on a great event. Thanks for all the hard work, we had a blast. Andrew said the sections were "tough, especially Sunday in the rain", but he meant that in a very positive way! Well worth the 7 hour drive from Pittsburgh!
  14. Hey Sam, I second the kudos on the event! Andrew and me had a great time, and you guys were fantastic hosts. Thanks for all the effort, and look forward to being back again next year! Bryan
