Have alook where the wiring enters the light,theres generally a ruber boot,inside this you will probably find the afore mentioned clip or some other retaining device,sometimes the bulbholder is on a bayonet fitting to the back of the lamp

I'm 13 stone,and the ohlins shock on my [damn noisy] 04 raga,which I believe has the same shock as your 06 is set at:bike on stand under sumpplate,wheels off ground spring length 120mm,damping adjuster all way in [clockwise],thenback 16clicks,its superb.Hope this helps

Thanks for your help guys,richening the mixture has no effect,have inspected all the gears in clutch casing,tried a clutch off another bike,still no difference.Have recently fitted new kickstart gear and idler gear as kickstart gear broke,but it had this bloody noise before and after doing this.I've been thinking,does the gear oil on this bike also oil the main bearings,if so could some particles from the damaged idler gear got to the mains and lunched them?It vibrates more than it used to as well.fantastic bike when its right though.

My 04 290 has been the most reliable bike I've had in 24 years ,just needed consumables.I use a jitsie air filter and clean it and airbox every trial,change gearbox oil bi-monthly,everything works like new.I spray all the metal work with wd 40 but use chainlube liberrally,and its stiill on the original.I find it far more capable than I'll ever be, but would prefer a useable 4th for the mud.Maybe I got a better than average one,but I'd definetly have another

I have a 04 raga rep 300,which has started making knocking/rumbling noise from the engine.Makes no difference pulling the clutch in,performance still good.I have taken head and barrel off,bore,piston,small and big end bearings are fine.no up and down play in main bearings at flywheel side,no wear or damage in anything in clutch casing.anyone got any ideas please?
