  1. Dont agree with you on that one Copemech . I have had a Mont and could check the fuel level by peering down the tank with the filler cap off.

Now I am only looking at pictures and may be different when I see one for real but with the Sherco the filler cap is 90 degrees to the tank and is it possible to remove the cap and look down the tank to see how much fuel is left?

  2. The fan works from a battery and the thermo switch also works from a battery so the regulator does sound suspect. Gilko says that the Thermo cuts in at 85 degrees Copemech when it is by passed using a battery power feed.

    Is the earth lead tight?

  3. Copemech.

Got to agree with the water in the petrol tank.

I used to think that the water was getting in to the carb through the airbox but I'm convinced more than ever that it gets in through the petrol tank now.

Water in the airbox has always been muddy and dirty but when I've had water in the carb it has always been clear like tap water.

Not sure if it's coming from the fuel companies or from me washing the bike with a pressure washer.

  4. Sounds like pilot jet is dirty or water in carb. Really need a compressor to blow out dirty carb drillings and jets.

Remove and clean the pilot jet. You willl need to blow compressed air through the pilot carb drillings as well. Make a note of how many turns the air screw is positioned from fully in, then fully remove the screw and also clean out the airway with compressed air. Reassemble back to position already noted.

While the carb is stripped clean out all jets and passageways with compreesed air.

  5. Thanks for all your efforts in putting on a great trialing weekend. Looking at the pictures from August, a huge amount of work had gone in to making the land and particularly the stream sections rideable. Those streams must have taken a lot of scrubbing to get them into condition be able to ride as the rocks looked very green in the pictures but actually rode great over the weekend.

At the first section we were greeted with a mass of different coloured flags and everyone unsure of where to go, however after walking the section, all became apparent and it became easier to follow as you got used to the new section markings.

I do like the concept of the three courses and after riding it in the neighbouring North East Centre I know it works and is very succesfull. Whether our Centre now adopts it is another matter, however Scarborough do run an Expert Masters route at their Club Trials so variations on a similar theme are already taking place.

I rode Clubman A and found the sections just about right, with nothing dangerous or intimidating.

Only negative was the two way traffic on the tracks between sections. I had a couple of near misses from on-coming riders going too quick particularly coming up from the start field and on Sunday near sections 10-11 and 12 on the very narrow sheep track. This needs to be addressed because of the safety aspect. Once the full extent of the land is utilised then a full loop will probably be able to be used without track sharing.

Have you just scratched the surface with this land and is a longer lap possible?

Great venue and two excellent days of Trialing enabling a worthwhile cause to receive a good donation.

    Thanks John B

  6. Is it worth trying to manouvre the frame on to the engine as against lifting the engine in to the frame? Chock the engine on a stand and lower and twist the frame on to the engine.

If both wheels are off the bike then it might be lighter and less tiring. I don't have a four stroke but it did work with the two stroke engine.

  7. Andy will be pleased! ;)

Try having a look on the front page of this site and there are four pictures to have a look at.

Anybody else think the radiator filler position has gone from bad to worse.
