  1. HI, I fitted one and managed to bleed the brake to ALMOST as it should be but was struggling to get lever pressure. After asking around someone told me to remove the master cyl cap and just"flick" the brake lever enough to move the piston about 2-3mm and watch for little bubbles, sure enough the last bit of air came out and now have pressure at the lever and the brake is perfect except for a bit squeaky from fluid on the pads. The only downside is it took a good half hour or more of fiddling with the lever but it's worth knowing. Good luck with yours.

  2. Have just fitted an xblok front caliper to my evo. Can anyone give an explanation of the best way to bleed the system ? There is no bleed nipple fitted, just a small grub screw, is this normal or should there be a proper nipple ? Many Thanks.

  3. Hi Mate.

I had the same thing with my '04, it might sound obvious but have you made sure you're not kinking the fuel pipe when putting the tank back on ? Mine had been shortened a time or two over the years and so couldn't be routed properly, a longer pipe sorted it. I know it's basic but I fell for it!!!!! Good luck.

  4. I just had to read this one (as a manufacturer of footrests) I was going through my bits box the other day and found some hangers which I think are for Mont 315; you can have them ( if you send a jiffy bag or pay for postage)if I can find them again. Let me know if you're interested.

Definitely interested and thanks. Just let me know how much I owe you and how to pay. Just I/m'd you on here but it wouldn't send. Try messaging me and we can sort it from there. Thanks again.

  5. Has anyone had trouble with IRC tyres not staying up? A mates had one on his new beta from new and it just wont stay up. They are superbly "grippy" tyres especially in muddy conditions but are they let down by this ? I've had one and it was the same on my rev3 with rim tape but this ones just as bad on the new rim i.e. Morad or DID....

  6. Sounds about right. Have you tried adjusting the mixture screw - by the way on that carb it's a fuel screw - by richening it up a bit? In this cold weather it might need a fair bit of adjustment. The other thing I had last year when it was cold and damp was the carb icing up. The bike would run but never felt right, particularly low down. I got round it in the end by riding around as best I could for 10 - 15 minutes to get some heat in the engine and then leaving the thing switched off for 5 or so minutes so the heat got into the carb. It was fine after that. Maybe something to think about?

To richen it up do I screw it out further on this carb? Also, now you mention it, it was really cold last time out so the carb could have been iced up. Am out tomorrow so will have a play with the mixture screw and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

  7. Can anyone tell me what jetting I should have in my '04 315? I've stripped and cleaned the carb and the bikes running ok but seems a little "weak" off the bottom end? Cant see any wear or damage to needle or slide but I can change 'em if needed. Not sure what jets are in at present. Any and all advice on carb set up will be greatly received!!! Cheers guys.

  8. Another quick question re the 315r...

Whilst stripping and cleaning the carb I noticed a split in one of the pipes. It's the one that forms a kind of loop from one side of the carb to the other, it looks like it may be 1 pipe for 2 breathers instead of 2 seperate pipes. I've never stripped one of these before so please excuse my ignorance!!!! Should it be split or not????? Again, all/any advice welcome!!! Thanks

  9. Thanks guys. Used a combination of all the advice - bunged up the end and soaked overnight in paraffin, then after letting it dry out blew it through with compressed air, loads of crap came out so it must be an improvement. The clutch plates are the apico ones which are slightly cross-hatched to allow a bit of oil to stick and hopefully cure the drag. Not tried it yet but will post on here with the results. Out for a practise on Wednesday so fingers crossed!!!

  10. Just bought a 2004 315r and want to tidy it up and give it a once over. Have fitted some new clutch plates to hopefully sort out a bit of clutch drag and all the usual stuff, oil change, filter, plug etc but I want to repack the silencer and decoke the mid box as it looks a bit gungy!! Whats the best/easiest way of doing it ? Any help greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone know where I might get a "Lampkin Replica" graphics set from? Cheers.
