  1. Fact.... My son rode and won British C class championship for JL Beta in 2006.

JL phoned me, and thanked us for winnning and asked if he could help us in 07.

I had to tell him that we were moving to MRS Sherco for 07.

At Dod park A/B round JL spoke to me and Chris as if we were still part of the team.

I have the upmost respect for the Lampkin family, and anyone who thinks othewise is someone outside of the real world of trials and who's comments are not worth a fart.

Allways think of the people who help you on the way up, co's on the way down you mite need then.

  2. An interesting question is (could he have done it on a Beta )

The amazing part of this victory is the fact that he only started riding the 4rt on Jan 1st, to adapt to a different bike and win a world crown in less than 3 months is truly amazing :hyper:

What will Bou's world crown spell for the greatest British trials rider ever? :D

  3. You not far out there No 1........I think!

There or thereaboouts in th A's will be the top B's from last year Morphett,Thompson,Robson, Richardson, Wiggins,Ayres, Sands,Sprintall, Stephens also Adam Jones.

I believe the top 10 will be tight and the order will change every event which is healthy for the sport.

    Money definatly on Challoner though.

For the B's though agin not far out but watch out for Keelan Hancock,Josh Brain who isnt going to do all that travelling for nothing and Stay and Gosden who train hard and are not scared of anything.

Still, its not over till its over and I hope injury or mechanical failure does'nt play a part.

You seem to have forgot the lads from Wales, Jake Evans Luker, Alister Bedford, & Joel Edwards. :rotfl:

  4. The second round of the UEM youth/ladies trials championship is in Lazzate in Italy but where exactly is the start of the trial? We have booked a hotel near lake Como which is 20miles from Lazzate so we just hope the start is in that area. :D

  5. My son rides for MRS Sherco now and we have carried out several mods to engine etc

Shouldn't this be front page youth news Alan?

Maybe i don't realy know, AG IOW is the only one i know who knows how to put stuff on the front page.

I thought most people new this anyway. He may post something soon as i know he has some important other news around the corner.

  6. AS,

Do you know if any have experimented with the cylinder base spacers listed in the '07 catalogue?

Are you referring to a 2.9?

    No, i'am talking about a 125, i hav'nt changed base gasket.

The standard 125 is very sharp at the bottom end, but our 125 is now very soft low down, but with more than enough power to take me (12 stone) around a decent club trial.

It would be worth playing with more base gaskets on the 290 as this should smooth out the power.

  7. How come so many youth B class riders got a ride, i thought it was youth A only.

Our Josh Stephen from IOW would have liked to have ridden  but did,nt enter as he thought it was youth A only. Maybe next year they could allow B class youths to ride the clubman route, and Youth A only on the main route. :(

  8. So if Sheffield indoor was shown live on BBC one, on a Saturday evening what would happen.

Would'nt riders find it easier to get sponsored, because evenyone would know what trials was.

If you ask most people to sponsor someone today they say (how may race's have you won)

  9. Get the media intrested (Joe Public) and all your problems will be solved, problem is getting the media intrested. Untill someone can think of a way to get more trials on the TV etc, McDonalds, Pepsie, etc an't going to be intrested in putting any money into the sport.

  10. Funnily enough you got the date, 9th September, which Richmond wanted. We also are stuck for certain dates on which we can use land due to lambing & grass cutting dates etc.

Thats interesting, so would Richmound like to swap it's C/D round date with IOW A/B date, seems everyone would be happier then :( Maybe we could make a joint appeal to the ACU.

Have also noticed that Abergavenny Date will clash with Y.M.S.A. 3 day again, as Richmound did last year, so hope they can sort that one out soon. :D

  11. Can't understand why there is a four month gap in the A/B championship calender, best part of the British youth trials scene is the social side, camping the night before, a few drinks ;) and a few laughs :P . Great in the summer but not so much fun in Feb March Sept & October :(

IOW wanted a late June date so they could use their best bit of land on the Island but was refused without reason :D Its also a crime that Richmond hav'nt been given an A/B round while others with a less than perfect reputation have.

  12. This a great step in the right direction and will no dought help clubs to keep those riders who have a go, and then find trials a bit to hard for them and drift away. It seems that all the suggestions at the start of this topic have been implemented, we now all have a voice in the ACU ie John Collins so with people power Via this fourm British trials looks like haveing a bright future. Some times it takes a prat like me to say or do something stuped to get things done, but there is usually a method i our maddness :wall:

  13. Coming from the IOW we try to get as many bikes & people in one van as we can, this makes it cheeper to travel, but mainland people don't seem to do this for some reason. It's much better for the kids on long trips if they have a friend to travel with as well.

I know that in the 70's the top Yorkshire riders used to travel to Europe together. Its a lot more fun but the down side of this of course is when someone (AG IOW) farts in the van at night.:beer:
