  1. I stand corrected. One of the commentators did show some experience of trials, but the other one did not really come across as knowing much at all.
  2. What did people think of the commentary team at Fort William?? We had plenty of laughs at their expense, though I am not convinced they knew a lot about trials or the riders. Instead of cleans we had "clears", dabs become "taps", there were even some "prods" in there! Dabill became Dabeel, Michael Brown better known as Mike and Harry Harvey became Harvey Harry.
  3. The trial at Cheadle was disappointing. I think some clubs are out of touch with what riders at the top of A & B class are capable of. These riders are looking for a challenging competition, rather than has been said something on a par with a club trial. Perhaps the organisers should attend a round before hand - or have a clerk of the course who oversees all rounds, to provide some consistency.
  4. Thats what I thought, we have a 125 but are still riding our 80cc in trials - I have seen riders who shouldn't be riding the 125 yet in trials, doing so - it is difficult to monitor as they trust the bike you are stating you are riding is the one you get out of your van
  5. I have heard a few people mention venues etc for the youth nationals etc next year, is there a list out and if so where is it? Thanks
  6. the rider gets 2 free tickets, one for him and one for accompanying parent. If anyone else wants to go I think tickets are
  7. Hi, for the last few years it has been the top 5 that have received trophies in all the national classes. The presentation for the last few years has been at the Park Inn Hotel, Northampton
  8. p.s. your son may still ride a 125 and be 12 years old, it is all to do with the dates his birthday falls. Hope this helps. If in doubt, any club official should be able to clarify it for you.
  9. Hi Look in the ACU handbook or on the website. This will tell you what class your son is in. If he is a C Class ride, then he will have to ride an 80cc until the 1st January and then he will be able to ride a 125cc. There is no getting round this, it is a requirement that you ride the bike capacity for the age of the child. No club should let a C Class rider ride on a 125cc in a trial.
  10. There ought to be some information available especially as people have to make travel and accommodation arrangements
  11. Does anyone know what the results were for the three day?? I am interested to know what happened - thanks
  12. I originally asked about the mintex - I have heard a lot of talk since starting this forum - mostly very positive about the fantastic organisation and the great time had by the riders who took part. I've also heard a few complaining about the fact that if local riders are party to the course prior to the event what is the point of attending as you have great difficulty beating this when they so clearly know where they are going - an obvious advantage on the time. These are just niggles but I can see the point. The amended results have obviously caused a lot of specualtion, perhaps Richmond should clear this up once and for all. I hope it continues in the future as it sounded such a great event my son would like to have a go in the future!
  13. What was the trial like?
  14. Does anyone know if the Devon clubs have posted any full results from the youth trials last weekend and where can I find them?
