  1. Seems you were on the money fella

Removed filter between pump and carb, re fit line, put together, kicky, kicky, starty, starty :banana2:

i only know because i thaught about it with a much cleverer man than me, and he said it would be a bad idea, plus massivly decrease life of pump!

  2. Went to fit two inline filters to my 2012 this morning, one from the tank to the pump and one from pump to carb, after a bit of problems getting the air box back on, I got everything back together, kicked her over and started first kick but on huge revs, even after choke put off, switched it off, started her again, same problem. Went to start her a third time, and now it won't start at all ???

    Any ideas ?

First on the very high revs and now on the non starting ??

Fuel lines aren't kinked, filter arrows pointing in direction of flow !!

lack of fuel? ie putting too much strain on the pump, hence why one filter before the pump?

  3. Right this is going to sound technical but how long does that threaded bit on top of the carb need to be like its the cable adjuster? i tweaked it and now cant get the bike to run right, i know it sets the height of the bit in the carb but how do you kno where its meant to be? should add 290 sherco, 2011 bike

    Cheers

  4. Now all, new bike to me and got used to it and today been giving it bit of welly and 3 times its conked out, seperate occasions. Feels like runing out of fuel, wondered if pump aint keeping up with fuel? Starts first kick after

    Cheers for any ideas chris

  5. ive been looking at this, debating what bike to get, between gas gas and sherco 250 or a montesa 4 stroke, and i cant decide really. farely rough on machine just maybe fancying four stroke due to its nature to be a bit more rugged, true false? any opinions obviously rag it and itll break but i would of thought there just be a bit less tempermental!

  6. now then

i had a 270 99 and had that as first bike, then went to a 250 06, (which is for sale) and theres no loss in power, ive had a go on johnathon richardson old 290, tweaked up to holy hell, and i aint a good rider and 250 is plenty of power for anything, and i like going up steep hills its one thing i think i can do!

  7. Been to look at an 07 plate montesa. Seems ok part from this best described as a tinny clutch rattle! Any ideas be helpful? Also anyting that I should keep in mind that's likely to be going or wearing?

    Thanks chris

  8. Hay, can anyone suggest anyone thats good at rebuilding engine and gear boxes in North Yorkshire?

Anyone heard of anyone like getting a reconditioned gear box and engine?

Also has anyone got an email or number for Alan Winters since he left White Brothers?

    Cheers Chris

  9. that sounds like a job, that will wait till it has to be done! it was the first time i got on bike for a month so im hoping itll atleast go a year! we can always hope anyway!

    thanks for the advice

na i never bothered with last lap, decided it was way too much effort in first gear all the way around! i call it a sucessful retirement!

    chris

  10. ah i wouldnt want a tyz thanks! haha might never get set of to trial! bloody thing fixed itself like when i got home so riding round that time in first gear when i should have just chucked back in trailer and flogged it up and down road! hell knows y though

  11. Now then this has probably been covered before, however tis a bit strange

the gear box on 06 gas gas, went for a ride in a trailer and got it out put it in first and it got stuck in first, as in the gear lever wouldnt go down but you could pull it all the way up and there was nothing

rode trial still nothing, just had a ploddy day

bit annoyed put it back in trailer drove home, and it came out of gear and appeared to be fine the little i just rode it around

now i was advised it was some random little bearing something to do with the selectors, however with it coming out i was thinking it just one of them things it got jammed, or is this the start of problems with that bearing or is it something else random?

    Cheers Chris

  12. Hay,

Sounds like the bearings in the linkage, as i just had to replace them, and good thing to as when it came to bits, all the needle bearings dropped to bits, but by the sounds of things i left mine a bit longer as there was quite alot of play.

  13. Hay,

i've always thought of this, but yeh i agree that clubman is meant to accomodate for everyone, and there should be harder and easier ones, but ive always thought of like a rating system or something, depending obvisouly on the weather, but if its known as a bit of a harder trial just generally, say when advertised or something. The other thing, is if your new to trials and an adult, and cant learn on the easy courses for kids, clubman is quite a shock sometimes.

    Cheers
