  3. i dont think they normally have a ball? good luck bleeding them i had to do mine a few weeks ago right nightmare!!! prepare for hours of frustration

  5. thanks will give it a go tomorrow. cheers
  6. Yeah the tube is clean i cleaned it out with a wire brush and blow torch when i repacked it to get all the carbon off. So i need to pack it again but not tightly just to fill the space? This could be where i am going wrong as it is as tight as i can get it at the moment. I was told you can use fibreglass roof insulation for it as i have run out of the proper stuff, is this correct and will it affect performance etc at all? Thanks
  7. I went to my first trial yesterday and several people commented on how loud my bike was. I didn't notice it until then but now it is rather loud compared to all the other trials bikes there. I Was told it would be a good idea to pack the exhaust tighter, i did this a few months ago but still took it all out and did it tighter. I managed to fit a lot more packing in doing it as compact as i could. Its still just as loud after doing this though. Any suggestions on what i could to to quieten it? Thanks
  8. I am currently putting 100ml of oil to every 5 litres of fuel. I thought it was semi synthetic but looked and its non synthetic at all. It smokes a lot mostly on start up but still smokes white smoke when running normal. What ratio should I use as i presume its runnign too rich. Thanks
  9. i have got the brakes working and was riding it today and the brake seems to be locking on slightly. so basically the brakes working but not coming off again. its not locked on solid so the wheel will not move but you can tell its binding slightly as the wheel will not spin freely when raised off the ground, but will with some force. any suggestions as to what will cure this? i took the caliper apart before i bled it took out the pistons and they did not appear stuck.
  10. thanks but im not too sure what you mean when you say about hanging it. do i need to disconnect the caliper from the forks and put it higher then the master cylinder and then bleed it and tap it?? im not the cleverest of people and find it hard to understand instructions! sorry!. Thanks again
  11. ive had problems with my brakes for some time now and today decided to have another go at bleeding them to see if cud get it better. Its the front brake thats the problem i managed to bleed the back brake and seems to be ok, not perfect but satisfactory. well ive spent hours trying to bleed the front one now and i am convinced there is no air left to come out as no air is coming from the nipple into the pipe i connected and i have done this for some time just to continue having brake fluid pumped out. when i operate the brake lever it is just floppy and no resistance at all. ive tried pumping it for a few minutes to see if this stiffens it up and still nothing. ive read other posts on the forum but cant seem to find a solution to this problem any help would be great. thanks
  12. HI Does anyone know what size the thread is on the bleed nipple son the brake calipers of a 2002 rev3? I need to buy some more as both front and back are rounded of nicely, but this is tricky as i don't know the size to buy. Cheers

    Dragging Clutch Rev3

my clutch is ok, but it sometimes is reluctant to work when cold but after warmed up its fine. my problem is similar to yours such as i find it very difficult to find neutral sometimes when the engine is running or not. any suggestions as to what could cause this?
  14. i can't seem to crack it!!! lol nvm will have to stay as it is until i can find someone local to take a look.

    Poor Running

just cleaned carb. it appears a little better but not 100% strange. i was told it could maybe be the stator? any way of checking this? thanks

    Poor Running

Nope. I've repacked the silencer again less tightly this time and still lacking power. It's just like it isnt warmed up totally but it clearly is after some time of riding!! Any more help guys?
  17. just having fun!! fancied a challenge and the hedge seemed a good idea so started to ride over it!

    Poor Running

it was repacked quite tight. maybe thats the problem might unpack it and do it again. would this make such a differnece?
  19. I was riding over a hedge yesterday and noticed my front suspension on my rev3 is very soft and fully compresses when i go over the hedge. I have read the user manual and it it is not clear on how to stifen it up. Could someone please give me a step by step guide on how to stifen it up please. Rear suspension could do with as bit of minor adjustment also if you know how to do this also? Cheers

    Poor Running

I rode my rev3 yesterday and it ran very poorly. It was like the engine hadn't fully warmed up and there was a general lack of power just the same as when you first start it before the engine has warmed up. I have recently repacked the exhaust muffler, new spark plug, engine oil change, and new thermostat. Is there any way any of this could effect the running of it resulting in this poor running problem? Any suggestions would be worth a try. Thanks
  21. If none of that works you may want a new brake hose. Something on the inside of the hose can wear out or something and block the return flow of brake fluid. I had this problem on my front brake, replaced the hose and was fine.
  22. thanks will attempt this tomorrow!!
  23. I am thinking of doing this. Is it as simple as removing the cover and unbolting the weight from the flywheel or is there more to it? Thanks
