  1. Thanks Dave i am at the moment using a SWM steel tank the shap and fit are quite good

    Just that empty its 5kilos!!!!

Someone decided to take the dents out with solder rather that a modern lightweight filler

  2. Can anyone tell me what lenght they are using on the 240??

Took them off and placed them carefully in a pile more shock and i diny know which is which

    Thanks Marty D

  3. Have been running one of the newer Michelin tube type tyres

I think they are crossply construction

Been out three times and 2 Nip punctures so not a good ratio

Running 6 psi and its on a B40

I also have the same tyre on a Tlr 250 and it seems ok

Could it be a combination of heavy(ish)bike and softer sidewalls?

Anyone else have the same probs?

    Marty D

  4. thanks for the fast replies it was that i have 2 b40s one is running a 626 (26mm) and the other a 928 (28mm)

i new there was a size difference but was unsure of the difference between the 600 and 900 series carbs

What size does everyone else use on b40 trials??

    Marty D

  5. Thanks for that info BUT Had a better look today and dont think it can be done

when you get the brake pedal in the right position the kickstart fouls it

I think ive tied a lot of different pedal shapes but no good

    Any ideas or pics?Marty D?

  6. Does anyone have any suggestions how to move the brake padal to the( proper) Right hand side of my B40

Have tried now for 3 months and just cant get onto it in the left

What lever /cable set up do you think??

    Jackson frame and cub hubs

    Marty D

  7. I ran the Mitas on a 250 tlr thought it was hard but griped Real well in all conditions but as said dont think it would be the job for a new bike

But in saying that i am running a pair of Michelins on both Tlr and B40

    Marty D

  8. I have used the Mitas here in both mud and rocks on a Tlr 250

Great tyre in the mud as the profile is rounded ,meanig that you have still a good tread while leaning the bike over

Found it also good on rock as you were getting good grip on the mud before

    Great wear rate

    Marty D

  9. Got the hubs back into the bike to night after getting them back from the machine shop

And what do you know, even with .75mm clearence still SPONGY!!

Anyone tried very small discs inside the hubs?????:)

i hope that when bedded in for longer they improve

    Marty D

P.S what oil do i use in the B40 and what quantity?

  10. Will hope to ahve the hub back from the machine shop by the weekend

think that all the adviceso far is great

A lot of different ideas to give the right end result

The frint hub was 140mm I/D and the rear 142mm

    Obviously the rear badly worn

As im (new) to this mad world of Classic \Trials im not sure on a lot of things ( Have a 4rt as well)

What else does Tricky Micky do??

    Marty D

  11. I think that by spacing the cams/pivots out the diameter is possibly wrong??

Have taken the hubs to a engineering shop and hes going to sleve the hub to 138mm id

think that if this is done the brake shoes will be (Off the shelf) fit

The easest way was just to find a set of 140mm O/D shoes but i cant find them

    Thanks for all your help

    Marty D

  12. Not sure if the right place but,

the Steve Colley TXT Gassers can anyone remember when they where made

would really like one and I know going to be hard to find one

Does anyone know of any for sale?

    Marty D

  13. Will have to do a plug test i advanced the timing that helped with the punch

What type of yokes is best ?

And how much am i likly to exchange for a billet set

    Are they worth it?

Is the billet clutch that burtons sells(200 odd) worth the weight saving and does it let the engine rev quicker

    thanks again Marty D
