    Seeley

anybody help me, i am going to start to restore one of the seeleys its been in boxes on the shelf for to long, i need some new swinging arm bushes and steering head bearings for the seeley ,if so where can i get them from, (part numbers would be nice if possible) ,also anybody converted one to taper roller head bearings , thanks in advance alan
  2. I'm assuming it just needs a rebore to next oversize and you're not talking about a 220 or 230cc conversion. Contact Gordon Farley motorcycles, number in TMX, and speak to Tim (I think) He knows which piston you can use to fit the Seeley as the Seeley had a bigger piston than the standard RS200 to make it 198cc and no-one seems to know what they came from. He got me a replacement for mine (actually had it in stock) which came from a ditch pump motor or something like. No jet changes should be necessary for a rebore and oversize piston. I actually tried David Silver first but they didn't really know anything about Seeleys so I'd go to Farleys
  3. Hi, i know this subject has been discussed but can anyone out there tell me if they have had thier RS200 Seeley motor bored out and what piston was fitted?, and if they had to alter jets etc to suit. I am desperate for this info as i have a trial next weekend come on dont be shy help me out you lot!!!

How rough is the Seeley? Does any one know if the bloke who was going to manufacture some silencers did them in the end?

    Honda Seeley

Hi, Wonder if anyone can help, just bought a rough seeley to do up.Thing is it ticks over lovely but when i open the throttle up it tends to die, ive lifted the needle, clean the carb, i know its running lean as it gets hot quick.Anyone got any ideas. Also i was given the original Seeley owners manual if anyone needs a copied version and a clip from TMX advertising the seeley.
  7. The sprockets on my Seeley are ;-front 10 rear 44 does anyone have the same on thiers any comments would be great
  8. Hi Honda pants, In a TL 200,same RS engine than Seeley, original front sprocket 12T and rear 55T (pitch chain 428) this combination works really fine for trials.
  9. Woody thanks for that do you know the cc's per leg when replacing oils ? Also i have a spare set of Marzzochis from a Fantic or Swm i cant remember which one But the diameter of the sliders is 34mm but you are right about the seeley legs they are 35m thanks
  10. Can anyone suggest the best combination of front and rear sprocket to suit the 200 seeley, 520 chain size. And who does the fork seals ta!
  11. Talon do sprockets for the Seeley and TLR so a phone call to them will establish whether they can do them in 428
  12. Hi, anybody know where I can find front (12T pitch 428) and rear sprockets (55T pitch 428 for Seeley and TL200R. Thank you.

    Thats No Tlr

Thats an RS200TS! these were made for the Belgian/Netherlands trials market in 1980 only 300 ever made as far as i am aware.Rs 200 motor fitted same as the Seeley
  14. You can, I think, get an oversize piston for the Seeley from Gordon Farley Motorcycles. Bloke called Tim knows the Honda engines well and will confirm. I think they come from a pump motor or such like. Liners can be done by Jet Bore or PJ, both in the Midlands and advertise in TMX. The 230 conversion is a bore and stroke job, not just a bore and they also had weights added to the crank. I think about 220 is max for just a bore. Ellastone Offroad often have RS200 motors from Japan with enlarged capacity so worth giving them a try for a complete motor. They also advertise in TMX. WES have recently had RTL / TLR pistons made. Don't know whether these would fit the Seeley motor but at 70mm diameter they would give a capacity of about 222cc on a Seeley crank. They're 4mm bigger than a standard Seeley so it may be stretching the liner a bit.
  15. Sometime last year there was chat about a 230cc Kondo conversion for the RS200 engine. Did anyone manage to find a supplier? If not can anyone recommend an engineering shop to put a new liner in my existing 200 barrel?
  16. Acouple of people have told me about a much modified Seeley Honda on E Bay. I'm pretty sure its one I built for a guy called Pete Buckingham who was a pretty good motocrosser in the Southern Center and a good mate of Pete Webb of Windsor Comp Shop fame. I still have lots of photos of the project as PB came along every few weeks with his camera as I was doing it. Any photos of it as it is now?
  17. OK, I see the analogy you were trying to make now. I still think this is an ordinary RS250 though as it looks no different from any others I've seen. It's not a 200 as it has the 250 barrell. I know what you mean about the exhaust but I have seen others with similar to that, could also be a Kondo conversion. Have a look at this website which is a dealer here in England who imports Hondas including a good few RS types. Click on their Sold bikes link to see examples of those they have sold recently. The top one is very similar to the one on ebay and has a similar front pipe. Hondas As well as RS Hondas Eddy Lejeune also rode a 250cc Seeley before geting the 360
  18. Sorry, I made a mistake, I looked at my Seeley V5c and realis that my frame number starts with a 1 and then the number. I thought the one for sale was in the one thousand and realise now they all must start with a 1. I have one of the last, but had not looked properly at the numbers for a while. And yes it looks like a modified TY tank. ...............I'll get my coat.
  19. Have to disagree there, genuine Seeley Hondas produced by Colin Seeley at Seeley International were numbered SHT-XXXX I believe SHT stood for Seeley Honda Trials As for the bike itself, the seller does say that the tank and seat are non standard, tank looks like a modified TY175 Yam to me. Big John Yes, I agree, modified TY175 or TY250 tank but definitely a genuine Seeley with SHT as the prefix
  20. The last Seeley to go on looks more like an RS to me ???? Or has it been made to look like one. Also the chassis number does not make sense if it is a Seeley. I am finding ebay dead at the moment, it seems to be a buyers market with lots of things, which is why some of the Hondas have a high start price so as to stop the people who think they may actually buy a TLR, RS or WHY for 2- 300 quid. Because they are out there, looking for a field bike for little Johnny.
  21. Fellow Seeley owners....Just completed my 1st trial since fitting a bigger carb to my bike...huge improvement in performance. The bike now revs out much better, pulls away from low revs much smoother and idles at a steady rate. Fitted a larger carb (from a CB250 twin I believe..pics to follow may confirm), had to drill a hole through the tank and weld in a tube to route the throttle cable through (pic to follow). The new carb is about 15mm taller than my original hence the mods. I also had to slim down the connection block to about 8mm so that I could use the original rubber connector to the airbox. This really has improved the bike no end (I'll hurry up and get the pics posted) Cheers all, Mark.
  22. Hi, I purchased a Seeley 200 a while back, it has not been used much in its life, its virtually mint and still on std tyres. It is one of the last ones made. Basically it runs rich on tickover but as soon as you open the throttle up its fine. I have a Wes pipe fitted and the motor runs like a watch even even though its running rich. It has still got a D8EA plug fitted which are a lot better than the resistor plugs sold today. My mate has a Seeley and his seems to run rich also, is it a common fault as I see the airbox rubber seems a bit restricted. Thanks.

    Seeley Exhausts

Attention all Seeley owners!! I'm in the process of getting some stainless exhausts made up for the Seeley. These are similar copies of the one shown in the pictures. I've run with this exhaust on my own bike for a number of years with no problems after a full restoration. She runs (& sounds) great!!! This is a one off run that I'm getting made and will only include you if you are seriously interested. If anyone is interested in some more details mail me at "stuart at vvvracing.com" for a price etc. Oh, Big John has seen a work-in-progress and liked what he saw!!!
  24. I:M about to remove the swingarm on my seeley to change the swingarm bushes.Does any one know which ones fit.XL185-tlr200 etc, please let me know.
  25. Hi, has anyone on here got the name and number of a bloke in the Isle of Man who has got a lot of Seeley parts. Thanks
