September 20, 200619 yr hi i own a fantic section 250 1996 model i would like to make the throttle more responsive because at the minute there is not much power in the bike until i hit high revs and i really want the power to be delivered quicker. at the minute if i come to a steep hill i need to be in 1st or 2nd to get up it when my mates are crusing up it in 3rd on very low revs although they are riding much newer bikes than me. so any help on how i can get my bike delivering the power quicker would be great. thanks
September 20, 200619 yr Make sure the power valve is opening as the revs increase - Fantic built a reputation for extracting a lot of power from small capacity engines so you should have lots of hill climbing potential. What condition is your condition in with regard to cylinder compression?
September 20, 200619 yr Your fantic section must be shot if it is gutless!!!! Perhaps it wants a topend rebuild?? I had a 95 and a 96 and they were more powerful than a cr500!!!!! LOL
September 22, 200619 yr My 97 Section is in excellent condition, fast throttle, power valve works fine, strong compression, added optional flywheel weights to smooth out power delivery, and it does NOT lack power! Tony P Charlotte, NC USA
September 25, 200619 yr Thanks Rock Hopper. I really like this 97 Fantic. I only paid $500 USD for it! I put a new rear tire, fast throttle tube and new grips. I wish I could find a set of new decals for it. I'm fairly new to trials, prior to this Section, I owned a 74 Honda TL125, a 75 Yamaha TY 250, and a 91 Fantic 309. September 26, 200619 yr Try and get a flywheel weight and a slow action throttle for it, coz they are a bit of a handful, but they are an awesome bike!!! $500 What a bargain.
October 6, 200619 yr It does have the flywheel weight installed, but I prefer the fast throttle tube, I have tried both. Tony P
