April 16, 200818 yr Hi guys, i am going to remove the engine from my 05 sy250 to put new rings in. has anyone got any advice before i blunder in?
April 16, 200818 yr Does the whole engine have to be removed?? is it possible to slide the cylinder off or does it hit the frame? Tom
April 16, 200818 yr make sure you have a stand under the sump otherwise when you take the top bolt out of the rear shock it will all fold up on you. when you have removed the bolt support the rear wheel so as to not break off the rear brake hose from master cylinder.
April 16, 200818 yr The only advice I can off is... dont remove the engine from the bike, remove the bike from the engine. secure the engine so theres no risk of it falling and once everything is removed, lift the bike off it. Tom
April 16, 200818 yr If you have a digital camera take some pics before removing engine.Makes figuring out where all the wires getted tucked away too.Andas someone else said best to lift frame away from engine. You can remove cylinder with everything loose except swing armbolt, but if you go this far might as well remove whole motor.JR
