4rt Fan Help

Featured Replies

Hi, just bought a 4rt,rode it today i let the bike warm up until fan came on and set of,but all the time i was out the fan stayed on is this normal, also is it true they have a saftey device that cuts the engine if it were to overheat,

Check your coolant, if its well low the fan may keep going as there isnt enough water to keep the cylinder cool, not sure about the cut off switch

thanks for your reply,i checked the coolant level and it is full.

If the engine overheats there is whats probably best described as a ' limp home mode '

Bike will start and run fine up to 2500 rpm then rev limiter cuts in. Letting the engine cool down and the ecu returns to normal.

Ride it, take your gloves off and feel how warm the fuel tank gets, then you understand why the fan is on so much

Allegedly there is a NTC sensor that controls the fan, this could be the problem , Windlewotsit is correct in saying the fan is on a lot of the time .
