Can anyone clarify which slide should be in a 240 carb? This post says 40, this french site says 50, and I have also been told 45 by someone else. My 240 has a (knackered) 50 in it and I am wondering whether it is the right one or whether I should replace it with a 40 or 45, any ideas anyone?

I have already checked the price of the parts I need and it is actually more than the cost of a new carb, but I need to know which slide to order in the new carb.

Thanks 348mate - the slide number is on the underside of the slide next to the needle. (BTW I live in Douglas).

I ran a 240 Fantic in the National twinshock championship here in the UK a few years ago and used a PHBH26BS carb from a 300.

I ran it on stock 300 jetting and the performance gain was dramatic. Pretty well everyone else at the time was running the same set ups on there 240's and even Fantic eventually used the bigger carb on the 245's onwards.

I know it doesn't answer the original question, but if you are replacing the complete unit, go for the 26mm instead.

Cheers

Martin
