amiller Posted September 22, 2004 Report Share Posted September 22, 2004 I need to freshen up an old ty250 motor and my local yamaha dealer is not interested in helping out. There are no more factory pistons hanging around these days so aftermarket is the only option. The problem is nothing is listed for tys. When I did my 175 I used a CT 175 piston. Worked fine, just opened the ports a bit. Does anyony know what piston from the Yamaha line other than for the TY will work. It seemes that just about every other model is listed. kevin j Posted October 18, 2004 Report Share Posted October 18, 2004 Wiseco doesn't list the TY anymore, but the one I got for a TY175 was the one listed for CT/DT/MX etc. It has skirt windows, but I have not checked size or location for timing or reed clearance.
