Ty 250 Piston

Featured Replies

I need to freshen up an old ty250 motor and my local yamaha dealer is not interested in helping out. There are no more factory pistons hanging around these days so aftermarket is the only option. The problem is nothing is listed for tys.

When I did my 175 I used a CT 175 piston. Worked fine, just opened the ports a bit.

Does anyony know what piston from the Yamaha line other than for the TY will work. It seemes that just about every other model is listed.

Thanks

Aaron

Thanks Dom,

I forgot about Bob. I have talked with him many times.

The WYSCO book does not list a piston for the TY250 that I can find.

Will we be seeing you Sunday?

Aaron

Wiseco doesn't list the TY anymore, but the one I got for a TY175 was the one listed for CT/DT/MX etc. It has skirt windows, but I have not checked size or location for timing or reed clearance. The cylinder is back from the machine shop, I just haven't gone any further. k
