What On-line Shop For Parts (& Elf Oil)

Featured Replies

Want to go down the 'do what the manual says' road to try to eliminate horrible grabby clutch.

Does anyone know where I can get the ELF oil from mail order?

cheers

Yep BVM. Take a deep breath and ring 01453 762743.

Also try Msport on 01438 742724 - Montesa specialist.

Maybe look at another oil rather than ''Elf'' not knocking it but it is expensive compared to other oils.

I have used Repsol in mine with no problems and a lot cheaper.

..........I got a MITANI clutch plates.......much better.......but still a ****ty clutch compared with other trials bikes!

how cansuch a expensive bike have such a bad clutch ????

I had an 05 and now 06 Repsol from new and have always used ELFHTX740 and never had any clutch problems. The clutch is standard and for me is great, yes they are sensitive but definitely not grabby (try my old TLR even after the usual clutch mods).

My oil comes out as clean as it went in and these days I only change it about every 50-60 hours of trials. OK so the oil is a bit dearer than some others but the transmission holds only 540cc for heavens sake, why risk poor clutch performance to save a couple of dollars a year on oil???

Phoned the nice people at BVM yesterday, and stuff arrived this morning.

Roll on the weekend; see if I can put it in gear from cold without digging a trench through the lawn with the front wheel

'Urgent Competition Parts'. Always brings a smile to my face.

I find putting it against a tree or wall helps!!
