Kinda Tony. Gasser realized that need to get into the 250 4T market sharpish but also realised that to produce that engine and that it should be reliable would take at least 3 years. So they went with the Yammie motor. The decision was made by gauging feedback on a forum.

Dabster (thanks MotoMerlin for the stolen bandwidth  ):

gas gas already had a 4t enduro though didn't they?

Perhaps this is the tie up equivalent of honda montesa? If it is we could see a scorpaesque 4t trialer????

Just had a think about it Dabster. The relationship could well work in Yamahas favour. It was no secret that the Yamaha WEC team was never a very happy one and now they are gone from the championship there's a void. Gasser on the otherhand are alway struggling financially and have distinguished themselves as the nursery of that championship (Nambotin, Guerrara & Gilluame). So Gasser pick the riders and get to second or third in the championship and then Yamaha poach the rider.

Just a thought. Use it, don't use it.
