Gasser realized that need to get into the 250 4T market sharpish but also realised that to produce that engine and that it should be reliable would take at least 3 years. So they went with the Yammie motor. The decision was made by gauging feedback on a forum. toofasttim Posted September 6, 2009 Report Share Posted September 6, 2009 The big'un's (450 & 550) use Gasser motors Dabster. This is a stop gap to get into the 250 4T market. Gasser have already used Suzuki motors in the smaller, more recent Pamparas. I don't see it as a Honda/Mont tie up. Just a temporary arrangement. It was no secret that the Yamaha WEC team was never a very happy one and now they are gone from the championship there's a void. Gasser on the otherhand are alway struggling financially and have distinguished themselves as the nursery of that championship (Nambotin, Guerrara & Gilluame). So Gasser pick the riders and get to second or third in the championship and then Yamaha poach the rider. Just a thought. Use it, don't use it.
