Would I Notice A Difference? Sherco To Gasgas...

Featured Replies

would i notice much difference going from a 2002 sherco 290 to a 2005 gasgas txt pro 280 / 300?

would there be any benifit? is the gasgas lighter or better built etc?

just i can get a gasgas thats 4 years newer than my sherco, for the same price some 1 has offered my to buy my sherco.. so im not sure.

any advice ?

Yep if the gasser will be in good condition. 280 is a beast but the 300 is powerful yet tame. Id snap the chaps hand off and then try and see if you like the feel of the gasser if you can get use of one.

All bikes are different in many ways so you need to try as i dislike Sherco but like gasser as its resposive in feel but is unforgiving unlike a Beta soft and planted.

The 05 Gasser 300 is probably one of my favourites. You'll have more power for starters.

I'm a Sherco man, but ridden quite a few Gassers and done the odd Novogar on an 05 300. For the same money as long as the Gasser is sound I'd snap it up.

From 06 they got a bit too light at the front end for me.

Biggest issue with the gasser is the gearbox, quite a few have had issues.

Riding position is very similar between the 2 so you won't find that much of an issue. Try it out & decide from there, newer bike can't hurt
