Moving To Kent, What's The Trials Scene Like There?

I stem from Kent (now in Wiltshire) and can tell you that you need to expect mainly muddy trials. There are very few locations with stony/rock streams. Probably the best club to join is the Tenterden MCC - they have been around for years and run centre trials, club trials and East Kent Trials Combine trials (this is a cluster of half a dozen clubs that run a small "league" arrangement of trials - or at least this used to run). There are good riders in that club, including the multi-s'boy championship winning/ now up-coming adult rider Ben Morphett.

There are good trials in the centre - the nearest rocks you will find are at the Hook Woods Trials Centre near Guildford - this is Sam Connors place and there have been lorry loads of rocks imported there.

Good luck and enjoy your time in "The Garden of England"...

Hi Mike J, try " www.motorbiketrials.com " and/or google " nktc " this is the North Kent Trials Combine web site.

Also, clubs such as Bexleyheath and Owls usually have a club trial per month. And yep, not many rocks, but lots of mud, especially this time of year !

East Kent is the home of Graham Jarvis and more recently Ben Morphett. The Tenterden club is alive and well. And has enjoyed some what of a resurgence in recent years, thanks to a dedicated group of individuals. We are part of the East Kent Trials Combine, running club, Combine and Open centre events. The highlight of which is the Man of Kent Trial held in July (last years recipient of the John Buttle Trophy was club rider Ben Morphett). We also have monthly club nights held at the Fat Ox in St Micheals near Tenterden and run an annual awards bash which happens to be on the 30th of January. A packed newsletter is also sent out every month. We have riders from 8 to riders still participating in their 70's. A small club but with great loyal members and some superb bits of ground mostly consisting of muddy streams. We are always pleased to welcome new members. Details are available on www.tenterdenanddistrictmcc.co.uk - hope this helps

One thing you will find is that you can ride just about every weekend in the South Eastern Centre should you wish, Lots of centre trials and many closed to club events.

You may find the land not always to what your used to but, if you do not wish to travel far you dont need to for a ride.

Also a lot of AMCA clubs in the south.
