June 20, 201016 yr hi, just bought my first 2 stroke again in over 10 years 290 beta evo, whats the best fuel mix ratio? if i fill a 5 litre can how much 2 stroke oil do i put in? Regards Doug.
June 20, 201016 yr I've ran all my bikes with 15ml per litre using semi synthetic never had a problem in 25 years.
June 20, 201016 yr 500 Ml!!!!!! Start at 80:1, so 63ml ish. If you want to play with other ratios, just dived 5000ml (5 litres of petrol) by your ratio. So 70:1 = 5000 divded by 70 = 71 mls 80:1 = 5000 divded by 80 = 62.5 (63mls) and so on. Don't think you'll go wromg running 80:1 though, and it's worth running higher octane fuel. Shell optimax is higher than BP Ultimate.
June 20, 201016 yr sorry to high jack this thread.. can i ask if i fill a jerry can with 20 ltrs at 80:1 i will need 250ml of 2 stroke? and also will the mix last 2-3 week mixed or will it all settle? cheers tom
June 20, 201016 yr Hi At the top of trials central page click on the other box. the thingy drops down click on technical , Ron Milams collection comes up. Go to Engine oils and fuel ratios . All will be reveald about ratios that even a idiot like me can understand. Then go to Google and search 2 stroke fuel ratio and I got a chart with how much oil per ltr per 5 ltr per 10 ltr for most ratios. I think it may be from the Hell team website in Aussie. Now I am a expert Pete
June 24, 201016 yr All this about ratios depends on the oil you are using. If my memory serves me right Beta recommend 4% for semi and 1.5% for fully synthetic so thats 75ml per 5 litres on fully synth.
