Rev 3 Boiling Up. Fan Not Spinning Fast Enough

Hi. I have a 2008 Beta rev 3.

Lately she has been boiling up due to the fan speed not running high enough.

Thermostat ok

Regulator ok (New).

Checked the fan unit on a 12v Battery out of the bike , and it spins like hell.

So why is my fan not spinning fast enough on the bike?

( i can stop it with my little finger)

This is wrecking my heed.

All help greatly appreciated.

Hi

Problems with electrics is always a pain in the ass.

I had same problem with my evo 4T. The fan was spinning very slowly. The other symptom was that the engine stopped when the fan started.

With high revs the engine did not stop but the fan was not spinning like it should.

You can find the capacitor on top of the carb in 4t, don

Only a 'shot in the dark' idea....

If you still have the wiring for the headlight, you could try running a wire from it's supply to the fan, turn the headlight switch on and the fan would work.

This won't cure your voltage supply issues to the fan but it might just provide a temporary cure.

If the fan still turns slowly, then the supply to the headlight is compramised too.
